Re: Hot Topic Game Discussion

There was a recent interview with IFI over on Operation Rainfall, where they talked about localization choices and how, in many cases, they had to do stuff like find an English equivalent of some obscure Japanese joke. People there were praising them for trying to remain close to the original Japan...

Re: Cyberbullying

To be fair, GameFaqs is a huge site and that may be a case of not having enough staff. I've no idea. What's more, like I said, it's not like "you should deal with it yourself" doesn't always not apply, but if it's a situation of rule breaking or bullying or whatever, then yeah, there shoul...

Re: Cho Jigen Taisen Neptune Vs Sega Hard Girls (Vita)

I mean, around 250K people own RB1 on Steam now.

They're cheaper on there for sure, but Steam releases are probably going to help CH production (at least in terms of volume) in the long run if they keep up.

Also Kochiwa states about the fanservice which is present also in this game: "it's the way the company does things".
At least they're honest.

So long, sweet princess.

You were probably going to be digital only and have poor sales on localization anyway.

Best Buy does have free shipping if you're buying more than $35, at least in the US, and I've at least once ordered something from the GameStop store in a store and gotten free shipping as a result, though that may not be the rule.

Why would anyone be playing this otherwise though?

Re: Cyberbullying

Getting a moderator involved really isn't the same thing as going "I'm telling!" though. In a case like that, you're on a website where you've agreed to follow rules and guidelines, and your or someone else's following of them has come into question. Or someone is harassing someone else, b...

Re: Translation Quality

I'm actually sort of inclined to agree here. Not to the same extreme, but this one definitely has more of a stiff feel than the first two to me as well. Like, a couple of things that really stood out to me were how characters would introduce themselves sometimes. When Byakuya appears, for example, h...

Re: Hot Topic Game Discussion

With how viral social media has become, things like NDA's are a basic necessity. Makes me wonder, when did localization changes become such a hypersensitive issue? Because, like with many other things, the Internet let people see the other versions as well as connect them to like minded individuals...

Re: Cyberbullying

It's also just not as feasible anymore because of how tied together it's becoming with real life. Imagine being a kid who uses your real name and the solution to your bullying problem is apparently only "stop having access to the thing that allows you to talk to all of your family and friends f...

Re: Speaking out against cyberbullying and trolling.

I never understood why people don't just unplug. This isn't like real-life If you ask me, this sentiment stopped being realistic over a decade ago, especially to the average victim of this stuff. It sure doesn't work as well now when so much of life revolves around the internet. I've got older rela...

Re: Hot Topic Game Discussion

I really wish a developer or two would make a documentary focusing on the inception process, from corporate/executive/board approval, milestones, focus groups, demographic data analysis, to finalizing the product, meeting deadlines, cutting ideas/content for X reason, and ultimately getting the pro...

Holy smokes, that's the biggest twist the series has ever pulled.

They'll probably show up in one way or another, I'm sure.

Re: What are you currently watching?

Honestly I actually agree with most of that, though I already wasn't hot on season two for some of these same reasons until the end.

I liked some of what GX did, but I'd be lying if I said my expectations for future stuff are particularly high after it.
