Sounds like a stackpack. Mostly used for very cheap releases.

I hate having to pull off multiple discs to get to the one I want.

Yeah, that's it. It's really odd looking. And I'm worried the DVDs can get ruined this way.

So apperently the CardCaptor Sakura Blu-ray's is Region Lock (Hard) or said in another, It won't play on a Playstation 4/3 and you will either need a region free Blu-ray players or some software on your PC to play it.

Will NIS America ever announce how successful the sales were for this series?

Cardcaptor Sakura is undeniably one of NIS America's biggest acquisitions, so it would be really interesting to see how well it did in terms of sales.

Sales figures are generally never released to the public in the US. So far all we have to go on is the mention from Justin Sevakis that the release is "selling like hotcakes." The only way I can see fans getting even a remotely more accurate appraisal of sales performance is if someone asks personally at a convention panel Q&A or at their booth. Even in that case I wouldn't expect any sort of actual figures.

At the end of the day, I guess we just wanna know if it actually made money x_x

That said, Discotek is doing the blu-ray release for movie 1, so people should be sure to support it...

I do hope it eventually leads to movie 2 blu-ray because it'll make my otaku dreams come true: owning the entire Cardcaptor Sakura series on blu-ray.

(though, I do wish we would get the cute video extras from the Japanese release as well)

I still am very puzzled by this decision, to be honest. I'm not sure what they were hoping to accomplish by not using the names the characters used, especially given that it plays into something really important later on in the series.

That aside, I really do like the actual quality of the blu-rays. They're a significant step up from the original Geneon release.

Guys please direct your concerns to the NIS America Contact Form. I'd e-mail them about in the hopes that they update it on the future (if - most likely) regular edition. I grew up with the Genoen subtitles and that sort of accuracy matters to me a lot if not just the Japanese culture.

I was all hyped to watch this new dub, until I learned it was just the old Animax-Asia Engrish version.

Thankfully CrunchyRoll is streaming all 70 episodes subbed though.

The Animax dub is actually pretty good. If you haven't actually heard the dub, I recommend giving it a try. It's not FUNimation quality of Viz Media quality, but it's definitely not the worst dub I've ever heard.

I like the Animax dub, although it's difficult to get past the fact that Tomoyo sounds like Ralph Wiggum from the Simpsons.

I'll consider giving the Animax dub a try, but I'll probably still prefer the Japanese version until an uncut American dub is made.

"HWEEEEEEHHH!!!" <--Most annoying sound - in all of Anime I've seen yet.

The ONLY time it was funny was that one time when Touya did it in tandem with her. Maybe if she had had a variety of screams like Courage the Cowardly Dog, it would have been amusing. But no. Same... blasted... scream... Every single -FREAKIN'- time. If she were a Pokemon, she'd be known as the Hwehkura.
