Strategy RPG Natural Doctrine Coming West For PS3, PS4, Vita

Postby sagagadego09 » Tue Apr 01, 2014 8:11 am

Today, IGN can reveal that Natural Doctrine -- the slick-looking strategy-RPG -- will be released in western markets. The game was developed by Kadokawa Games and launches in Japan on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita on April 3rd. Kadokawa is publishing the game itself in Japan; in the west, NIS will publish it.

Natural Doctrine puts players in a fictional world that revolves around a substance known as Pluton. Adventurers plunder Pluton from dangerous underground caverns, but there are evil and dangerous beasts, monsters, and more standing in between them and their loot. As evil follows these explorers to the surface, it's up to them to protect the city of Feste from destruction.

In some ways, Natural Doctrine seems to be most akin to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance Wars, and even Valkyria Chronicles. It will be available in the fall of 2014 in both North America and Europe and can be purchased both digitally and at retail for all three PlayStation platforms. The game comes toting both Cross-Play and Cross-Save functionality, though it's unclear if there will be any sort of Cross-Buy between the versions

Interesting to see that NISA is the one in charge for the western release. It'd also seem that they have a new relationship with Kadokawa, since Demon Gaze was a game published by Kadokawa in Japan as well.

I don't think it is a joke, but not taking this as 100% certainty.

I'm not really looking forward to this one, but I guess NISA has to do something now that IF INtl has likely taken all chances of them to do any more IF/CH games

still labyrinth cross blood or operation abyss would have been way better choices

Oddly enough, even if this is true, I just don't feel all that hyped....at all. At the very least, the game looks interesting.

Seriously though, IGN being used as a source to cover this information on April 1st just isn't a good combination. Even though there's a screenshot of NISA's twitter.

Seems like a mix of Valkyria Chronicles and Shining Force from the little bit of footage I saw, haven't been following this too closely. Hopefully it's good.

They're still waiting on how Demon Gaze does I guess?

2013-2014 has been so bloody strange.

It feels like ever game I make a passing comment about wanting localized on some forum somewhere suddenly gets announced for localization. Games which I would never, ever expect to come across.

Happened with Sorcery Saga. Happened with Demon Gaze. Happened with Mind=0. Happened with Xblaze.

Add this one to the list too.

famitsus score is a bit alarming, and I have been hearing the game is not the greatest so I am 50-50 on biting.

But is this real, or an April fools joke?

You have a moderator tag next to your username, therefore you must be a deal negotiator for NISA privy to such information!
