oh I used the reviewers to bounce off of, but I ended up just asking people who have actually played on other sites.
I will eventually get this one to try one day, but this is not a day one buy for me.

this is probably the most dead part of a forum for a new game, that I have seen.
It's kind of sad

Eh, some games get talked about far more than others. XD Also, my copy isn't here yet.

I mean I guess that explains a few things, but for the most part, the fact that topics here are only ones that pre-date the game release is just.. like it makes you lose hope in it being a good game.

Okay, now I have my copy... and yes, I'm enjoying it so far. ^^ It's definitely a simpler game than GFP, but I can also see it as being more welcoming to newcomers than many other titles in the genre. I guess it's kind of a casual roguelike?

Although markedly different in tone.
The change from Paradox to Ultimatum is more meaningful than might be obvious.

A lot of the time though while i'm going through dungeons I find myself thinking how much better this could have been. I really like the story, especially the choices which for whatever reason actually feel significant to me, which I hardly ever feel from games that try to emphasize making choices. Even the Angel/Devil transformations are a nice addition to the game. It's just that all of the other things that could only help to add to the experience are missing.

My guess is that the budget was considerably smaller than that of GFP which is a shame. It makes sense considering NIS is probably pooling most of their resources into Disgaea 5 at the moment, though.

I beat the game around two days ago, despite being simpler than GFP from a gameplay perspective, I enjoyed it just as much as the first and both games are probably some of the most enjoyable RPGs I've played in recent memory. I'm guessing this game will sell worse than GFP but I hope that we can see more from this franchise in the future.

All right, so I got the True End, and Phyllis... I really hope she reappears if they make a third in this series.

Anyways loving this story more so than the GFP its a lot more serious, i probably say you can feel the height of emotion of those pushed to the edge.

Its way easier too it took me a short while to adjust to the devil/ angel forms, although id personally say god mode was better.

Anyways great game thus far :)

so...

what was in the box? was it your girlfriends head? :D

This game was too short. I was surprised at the postgame content (or lack thereof) Literally took no more than a couple hours to clear all the extra dungeons. Lack of bosses I also found a bit troubling. There is one bright spot though. I'd strongly recommend this game to anyone looking to try the roguelike genre out, for this is definitely the easiest game in this genre that I've seen yet

So I'm seeing the regular JP edition going for about $15 and the LE going for $20~.

I get the feeling this bombed.
