I no longer had any problem going through the checkout page either. Although, I did decide to click on the "checkout" option that's at the bottom of the "cart" tab instead of the one that's on the product page. I don't know if that made a difference though.

I suppose some people might've preferred sticking with sprites instead of this... chibi-3D stuff. XD I'm fine either way, and probably going to enjoy this regardless, but the graphics are definitely a decision-maker for some people.

I liked the first game because each stage had a new feature/felt different...new music and some other stuff.

in this game, you have no one following you, upgrading weapon and shield only increase def and atk.
lack of music, there's like 10-15 chapter, and there's about 3 song for all of em.
Story is maybe better, can't really say because I don't understand japanese.
When you die you only lose you equipment, you keep your lvl.

the game reminded me a bit of Sorcery saga but lot simpler and less diversity in music.

also I am not an expert to roguelike rpg, but the dungeon in this one kinda felt a bit empty. the first game and sorcery saga had way more items laying around.

Bah, most of the fans who played the first game say this one feels like a downgrade.

Have they actually played it? Visuals aside, this one sounds much more interesting at least.

Neither come close to ZHP though. :(

hey i was thinking of pre ordering this game, but this will be the first time I jump into rouge style gameplay. Does anyone know if the difficulty is right for a newcomer?

HA. I see you
posting on here and Gamefaqs.

basically from reviews:
removed from first game:
bursting equipment, level resetting, dungeon partners, armor outlook customization

this would honestly be a better game to jump into first, before it's prequel even, unless you do not want the story spoiled from the first game. (although from what I hear it is minor spoilers)

I am playing the first game, and it really reminds me of just a rogue style disgaea, which it honestly is XD.
I is basically just an infinite Item World trip.

Also the difficulty seems to be ramped down on this game, and gives you a sense of progress. Since I have not yet played it I cannot be sure, however it would be better to start on gameplay wise than the first game.

From everything I've heard, Awakened Fate Ultimatum is definitely on the easier side as far as Roguelikes go - so yes, it would be a good starting point.
