Not to be confused with the Awakened Fake All-Tomato.

I do not take credit for any of these nor the locating of said reviews. They were found by cloudmd23 on gamefaqs. I am only posting them here so people may have a more enlightened opinion of the game before it arrives on the shelves for the public

lol yea just came from gamefaqs as well and read through some of them. I was worried about the difficulty this being my first rouge like game. Though after reading the review it seems this one is on the friendly side so I decided to take the shot and pre ordered the uber edition of the game.

lol what? XD there is an uber edition?
I will probably get it on DL only, probably once I beat the first game, and clear some backlog.

It's called the "Ultimate Fate" edition. I... think there's a TINY bit of stock left, but it's almost sold out. This shouldn't be a truly brutal game, though it'll get easier as you practice.

I mean supposedly it's easier than GFP, if so, I will crush it.
Playing GFP atm, have not had to grind once like people say you will have to from the first 7 chapters.
Trying out the Martial Dungeon for the first time now. So glad I did because I got the Thief Legs which cancel traps, and the Prinny hat to give to Lilliel.

Nn. Worst-case scenario, there's a bit of a glitch you can exploit for some serious grinding - and I don't feel bad about that because true grinding in this game takes so long to begin with. XD

GFP.

I have no idea if the glitch is still in AFU. Speaking of, I should look for new reviews...

http://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps3/a ... _ultimatum - 7/10

You'll know with a single glance whether you're interested at all in playing The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. ... It's a great time sink – once those initial slow hours are out of the way.

http://geeknifty.com/index.php/2014-01- ... ps3-review - 8.5/10

Despite awkward art quality shifts and pacing issues, The Awakened Fate Ultimatum makes for a neat little sequel.

http://www.justpushstart.com/2015/03/th ... um-review/ - 8.4/10

The simplification of Awakened Fate Ultimatum in terms of dungeon exploration felt like it made the experience more enjoyable. Instead of having to grind away on multiple item enhancements or a level increase that would go away upon returning to town, I felt like the game flowed a lot better.

http://www.twinfinite.net/2015/03/10/th ... um-review/ - 4 (Great)

Striking a good balance between Shin’s deity forms is important to doing well in the dungeons because you never know what types of enemies you’ll be facing next.

http://techraptor.net/content/awakened- ... d-not-easy - 7.5/10 (Good)

Despite awakened Fate Ultimatum looking very bright and cheerful, much of the subject matter in the story is anything but. The game will frequently present tough choices and there is rarely a “correct” answer; this is war and every decision comes with consequences. Some of the darker elements present here include things like child soldiers and torture. Those coming into this expecting a light-hearted game ala Hyperdimension Neptunia are certainly in for a surprise. It was pretty interesting to see this kind of storyline and was a welcome departure from the norm.

http://games.highdefdigest.com/16294/th ... m_ps3.html - 4/5 (Recommended)

As such, this PS3 title's strongest point really is its story. While this does mean that the actual gameplay elements of 'The Awakened Fate Ultimatum' don't particularly stand-out, but they are also decent enough to not detract from the plot itself while providing something substantial for players to diligently work through.

https://www.psu.com/review/26170/The-Aw ... w-/?page=2 - 4/10

But for those like me, who enjoy a literal translation so we can get the full, authentic story, it begs the question what else that was more complicated to translate got changed?

http://www.modvive.com/2015/03/10/the-a ... -and-fate/ - 90%

This is definitely a sleeper hit that should not be missed; it may not be a highly advertised title, but any fan of NIS America games or even fans of dungeon crawlers or RPG’s in general should definitely give this game a try.

http://middleofnowheregaming.com/2015/0 ... um-review/ - 5.6/10

Despite my negative tone, I did have fun playing The Awakened Fate Ultimatum

https://gotgame.com/2015/03/11/review-t ... ou-choose/ - 3/5

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is a pretty decent ride, though the sheer randomness behind each dungeon can lead to some unfair seeming situations. The game’s story, however, mostly makes up for this, and the gameplay is solid enough. The ethical quandaries that the game presents are quite interesting and will likely keep many involved in the story all the way through at least once, and quite possibly even more so they can discover what will happen if they make different decisions.

The game’s drawbacks, however, will likely turn just as many off. The randomness presented in each dungeon can easily make any of your planning go for naught, and, though it does try, The Awakened Fate Ultimatum doesn’t manage to find a good middle ground between visual novel and dungeon-crawler. It feels like it wastes so much potential it could have had if it had indeed focused on one of these two genres rather than try to combine them.

http://www.totallygn.com/ps3/the-awaken ... um-review/ - 5.5/10

Then again, maybe that’s a blessing, as the game’s not really designed for short bursts of play. This is because there is no way to save in the middle of a dungeon, with the exception of the suspend feature, which is actually just a temporary save.

http://nichegamer.com/reviews/the-awake ... te-choice/ - 7.5/10

If you’re contemplating whether or not to pick it up, doing so is not a bad decision. The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is a strong game, and one of the few games that still carry the rogue-like torch—it’s just missing that last little touch to make it great. And ultimately, that’s how the game feels; it’s a good game that is just shy of being great.

http://thegameraccess.com/reviews/ps3/t ... tum-review - 7.5/10

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is a must play for all dungeon crawler fans but it's completely understandable for those who are not fans of the genre to skip it.

In Summary...

Fans of the genre are likely to enjoy it, while those who don't like this overall style of game won't have as much fun.

so basically...
like most niche games.
not a fan of the genre, then move on, if you are, then it is for you!

http://www.gamersheroes.com/honest-game ... um-review/ - 9/10

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum takes the best elements from rogue-likes and visual novel-style games, combining them into something that is absolutely heavenly…or devilish, depending on who you are.

http://www.ztgd.com/the-awakened-fate-ultimatum/review/ - 6.5/10 (Decent)

Even though many of the concepts that are touched upon here have certainly been done before, it’s executed fairly well, and I would say that the characters and plot are easily the strongest part of this title.

http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/th ... -ultimatum - 3/5

It’s a good step in the right direction, and with some tweaking the balance may yet come. Until then, this misses the bull's-eye, but at least it hits the target.

http://gamerhorizon.com/awakened-fate-u ... w-paradox/ - 6/10

To put it simply, The Guided Fate Paradox felt like a Nippon Ichi title packed full of features along the lines of Disgaea, whereas The Awakened Fate Ultimate feels more like a bare bones RPG that is worth a quick playthrough, but isn’t meant to last beyond a trip or two through the main story.

http://www.onlysp.com/the-awakened-fate ... um-review/ - 5.7/10

Mediocre with a few bright spots. Ultimatum delivers what can be expected from the sub-genre and no more. The visual novel sequences are behind the times, the story is okay and the gameplay is adequate. If this game is for you, you probably already know it.

http://www.popzara.com/games/game-revie ... matum-ps3/ - No Scores

Fans of The Guided Fate Paradox and its spiritual predecessor Zettai Hero Project are going to love The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. Roguelike players may also want to try being God if they can handle the, uh, highly anime nature of the title and mild difficulty. It’s not exactly the second coming, but The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is a decent choice that does justice to its pedigree.

https://gbatemp.net/review/the-awakened ... matum.276/ - 6.9/10

It's a very niche game that might have been much better if it got a higher budget.

http://www.game-over.com/content/2015/0 ... ultimatum/ - 95%

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is an absolute must-buy for anyone who enjoys dungeon-crawlers. It’s a fast-paced entry in that particular genre with a lot of plot and the best part is that it’s all very compelling. Every major character has a lot of depth and you wind up caring about most of the side characters too since even they get some backstory and time to shine. It’s pleasing to look at and hear, with excellent voice acting and a great soundtrack. It’s a great gateway game for dungeon-crawlers with its fairly brisk pacing, but the plot-heavy nature of things definitely won’t be for everyone.

I continue to be amused by how much these reviews vary. XD

Indeed:

Sadly, however, if you’re interested in this game because you liked {The Guided Fate Paradox} or Z.H.P. and want more, this isn’t the game for you.

read recently that the game has no NG+ so that means multisaving if you are a trophy hunter.
I am not sure of postgame, but after seeing some of the trophies I would assume that some must exist, although that is probably wrong and most likely these things must be done during the last few chapters or something

from what I've played, you make a choice at the end to save one of the two angel. then when you clear the game and reload your save data, they bring you back at the event where you can choose who you save...and I supose if you clear both route you then have a third one. (I only finished it once)
