I think it's also the fact that a lot of the younger VAs actually consume the media they're working on - they watch a ton of anime and play a bunch of games, so they're naturally more excited to talk about their involvement. Older VAs came up in a different time and atmosphere, so they're less likely to know or care as much about that stuff.

Excellent point, I've noticed this too.

NISA has had a habit in recent years of hiring former/current Newgrounds/Lemmingsoft/VA Alliance members too. Some people might complain about 'lack of experience' or whatever, but I think it's great they're getting noticed.

Kira Buckland was basically "that girl who was in Metal Gear Awesome" until you got her for Mugen Souls. Then her career has snowballed ever since. Just as an example.

Having to essentially voice seven different characters in the same thing will probably do that.

Close enough.
Never played 'em, so running on vague details I do remember from ages ago.

It's an easy mistake to make what with the rainbow motif.

But it's actually the main Chou-Chou (Ego) and THEN seven other forms, totaling eight.

Yeah, during my time at NISA we always tried to make a habit of including at least a few new faces on each project. A lot of times, their lack of experience is made up for by their enthusiasm and dedication to do the best job they can. We were actually one of the first companies to work with Troy Baker when he moved out to California too, and I could tell from our first session with him that he was gonna make it big.

Made it so big in fact that he abandoned you guys in the dust when you needed him again. Not that he was the first, lots have come and gone (damn unions).

Even NISA's first project (Which was Phantom Brave, I believe) has Steve Blum, Crispin Freeman and Dave Wittenberg, which just seems crazy now because those guys have been high-class union VAs for ages at this point.

There's an interesting chronology there.

new trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIEahTjQngk
They're calling her Genocide Jack again when in that pointless moment in DR1 she said she wants to be called Jill?

Make up your mind Nisa.
I wonder if these are subtitles for the trailer or ones included in the game.

I think that trailer is pretty much the same as the earlier one, unless I missed something. ^^;

Same as the JP one, just with added subtitles and minor edits like Absolute being changed to Ultra

They meant it's the same trailer that was posted back when the game's localization was announced. We already knew about Ultra too.

I don't get why NISA would call her Genocider Jack... I mean I know it probably alludes to Jack the Ripper, but I prefer Genocider Jill or Sho.

Games I'm currently playing: Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force [PS4], Megadimension Neptunia VII [PS4], Pokemon Moon [3DS]
Backlog: Superdimension Neptune [PSV], Tales of Xillia [PS3], and many more...

I wasn't working with NISA during DR1, but I completely understand the decision. "Genocide Jack" has a nice ring to it due to the alliteration, and it also plays with the idea that you'd expect a serial killer to be a man, not a woman, so the reveal is more of a twist. I don't remember the exact dialogue from DR1, but if I remember correctly, when Genocide Jack mentions that maybe she should be "Genocide Jill" instead, it wasn't a serious request. She was just being playful and drawing attention to the fact that she's not what you expected. And of course, to the outside world, she's still "Genocide Jack" because very few people know her true identity.

And then of course there's the fact that "genocider" isn't a word...
