Onechanbara Z2 General Chat

Postby metlspaz » Wed May 06, 2015 7:34 am

Ok, this game seems to have earned it's own subsection now, so I figured I'd start a general topic.

How many people here have this pre-ordered and/or are planning to get the game?
I'd like to hear from my fellow zombie hunters

this has more than zombies

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.js ... 3A%20Chaos

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes

Rating Summary: This is an action game in which players control two sets of sisters as they battle zombies, demons, ghouls, and werewolves in order to save the world. Players use swords, chainsaws, and energy blasts to kill enemies and boss characters in frenetic melee-style combat. Players can use weapons to dismember enemies' limbs and/or cut their bodies in half, resulting in large blood-splatter effects and strewn body parts. Finishing moves depict dramatic slashing and stabbing in slow-motion. During the course of the game, some female characters wear outfits (e.g., bikinis, thongs) that expose large amounts of cleavage and buttocks. Some costumes depict paint and/or fruit that barely cover characters' breasts and genitalia; cutscenes also depict characters' jiggling breasts and close-up angles of buttocks. The words and appear in the dialogue.

preordered already of course. ^-^ getting physical and digital versions.
not preordering digitally though if they have that because basically when I preordered Xenoverse digital
back then, I couldn't download it because of some PSN problem where you have to use a Phone or PC to confirm your preorder purchases. it didn't correct itself until I used a PC to have it queue to start download, then go to ps4 and get it start downloading, really annoying, so now if I buy digital, I don't preorder, I just get it the day it's public and available.

Also it's GREAT this iwll ahve PS4 youtube share, and will likely support full audio besides video?
See Koei tecmo? learn from this. you should only do contracts with VAs that accept Share videos having audio intact. no one wants to upload youtube videos if they can't have the audio included, which partially contradicts the point of Share youtube upload, which both video and audio are important.

XSEED and NIS have to step up their game with Onechanbara Z2 Chaos

DMC4SE is not getting a physical release , but if it did, it would have this for its boxart, as it has it on the PSN Store cover, it basically symbolizes that game (just like all 4 Onechanbara girls symbolize Z2 Chaos.)

http://i.imgur.com/a3ZuaAz.jpg

5 characters on the box art, and it looks incredible and very marketable having all the playables on it. even their latest trailer showcases all 5 playable characters in stylish epic hardcore fashion.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos can look incredible too
Spoiler:
with all 4 characters on the cover. even if some may be enlarged and others shrinked and squeezed in the background. some brighter lit, some darker lit, A "crowded" cover can still stand out, even more than covers with just a logo, or a cover with just one or two people.it's really how the cover is designed. Yes I know there will be much discussion about it, but yes just wanted to show that mainstream action games like DMC4 SE, are proving that a cover doesn't need a single focus to stand out.

a group can still be a unified focus than enhances attention.

http://i.imgur.com/FPK3MlS.jpg

it's just a matter how you photoshop it into a epic cover.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos when its trailer series comes up should really rival DMC4 SE trailers. Yes, Z2 Chaos doesn't have as stylish action cutscenes, but it already has the gameplay to produce jaw dropping and epic trailers that are even more exciting than Shinovi versus character trailers.

I dunno, the first localized trailer (NA and EU versions, which are basically the same from what I seen)
is underwhelming to say the least (also too cheesy, trashy and tame from an editing standpoint.)

the new theme is better than the previous theme.
Of course Two Deadly Girls is an amazing song, but a trailer that uses that should transition to the "I am number One" theme, which is more enticing and fits the higher intensity of the action.

Also the english samples used isn't so fitting with the trailer, I'm sure there are better lines in the script that make the characters look more cooler, more intelligent and more charismatic.
I mean yes Onechanbara is campy, but from a trailer standpoint, things like "sally forth!" in the trailer isn't going to cause most consumers to take this seriously enough to want it,
some may think of it as a bad joke.
and closing the trailer with things like "what's wrong? scared?" can be such a HUGE turn off, pushing away interest.

I mean whose idea was it to edit and release that awkward english Onechanbara trailer?
It's embarrassing and terrible, even if it caters to Onechanbara fans.
it's like someone in the trailer staff doesn't want this franchise to go mainstream in the west.

It should promote itself professionally and hardcore like a DMC4 would, not like a House of the Dead movie.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos is a steal at $50, but with its summer competition (DMC4SE is only $25),
it has to really express itself from a hardcore stylish action angle to convince the masses it's much more than a pretty body. and it has a lot of strengths that its competition doesn't have.

Spoiler:
and a part of it can be done with very well made trailers that glorify Onechanbara Z2 Chaos like it's an action game of the year experience.
With great edited trailer including highlights of some of the most stylish action, the best blood/gore moments, the 4 member cross merge brawls, and demonstrating some of the most over the top combos, along with using the most adrenaline pumping tracks from the soundtrack,
Onechanbara Z2 Chaos can be presented in a better light with very profound trailers that are so great that even the trailers themselves would be replayed and rewatched at how cool they are.

Also trailer gameplay tutorials, or exhibitions, can help inform the whole industry that Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has one of the deepest and most fluid and creative combat systems ever. and no action game has as much blood and gore as this, factors that MK thrive off of. and the greatest and deepest costume customization in the whole genre. and that's just the surface of its tons of great features. Also of course the 60 fps 1080p specs used also in the promotions, will convince more PS4 players to get it since a lot want higher framerate along with high resolution.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has all the things that can make it successful in North America, but it has to present itself as more than awesome, to convince the masses that it IS a must have and it IS a must play for all action fans out there.

some trailers Z2 Chaos should showcase

1. a much better STORY trailer better lines and scenes of the story, without spoiling much, and filled
with some of the best action and combo highlights, along with gratituous close up highlights of the blood and
gore and some boss fights.

2. TAG TEAM trailer to showcase tag team feature and team combos. team air combos, etc.

3. CROSS MERGE trailer, which can show the most chaotic part of Onechanbara gameplay when all 4
are fighting hordes of enemies together at the sametime. this trailer should show nothing but 4 member
cross merge action. PURE 4 character chaos among enemy hordes throughout the whole trailer would
make this one of the most epic gameplay trailers ever with the right action highlights.

4. CUSTOMIZATION trailer that displays the costume customization screen, with cool examples
of realtime customization demonstations, as well as ingame gameplay examples of those customized costumes in action.

5. UPGRADES/unlockables trailer that shows more of the skills the characters can use and
examples of unlockable content, and some of it shown in cool gameplay highlights as well.

6. KAGURA combos trailer. exclusively showcasing Kagura moves, weapons, skills and combos

7. SAAYA combos trailer exclusively showcasing Saaya moves, weapons, skills and combos

8. AYA combos trailer exclusively showcasing Aya moves, weapons, skills and combos

9. SAKI combos trailer exclusively showcasing Saki moves, weapons, skills and combos

10. TUTORIAL/PRACTICE trailer that demonstrates COOL combos and the deeper aspects
of the combat systems.

11. ENEMY/BLOOD/GORE trailer showcase the wide variety of enemies and different bosses to fight.
they can also show the difficulty settings and ranking system more so people see a wider spectrum
of the content the other trailers don't highlight. this can also show more of the gratutitous blood and
gore that has helped so much franchises become more popular.

12. LAUNCH trailer. this has to be super hyper ultra awesome and likeable for all the masses.
the trailer can really deliver the extra oomph to make Onechanbara Z2 Chaos more enticing to the
PS4 gaming masses. Combining all the features and gameplay highlights into one trailer that
really puts Onechanbara in the best light and be a superstar.
Every step of the trailer should get more and more epic, rising up to cross merge and transformation group action horde highlights, towards a mainstream enticing climax.

and each trailer onscreen during the title/preorder gifts part, should promote 60fps 1080p and PS4 EXCLUSIVITY as features, as well as DUAL AUDIO making Onechanbara Z2 Chaos more valuable to the PS4 communities.
as well as promoting itself as never having been released in the west before until now, so that will make it appear more important than those remasters.

and of course the trailer should use the most EXCITING and battle fitting tracks that pump up the adrenaline and action in the trailers.

Yes, treating Onechanbara Z2 Chaos as the greatest videogame ever,
and the best at what it does,
expressing all that through the promotions and everything,
is the first step to help the masses accept it as something totally awesome and worth getting.

that's really what the most successful games and ongoing popular franchises have been doing.
it's not the amount of money put into marketing, it's the attitude towards itself and how it informs and presents itself to the public.

and of course, PASSION.

Well Neptune is getting 4 players co-op on portable, maybe Tamsoft is warming up for the next Onechanbara
to have 4 players online co-op on ps4.

http://gematsu.com/2015/05/extreme-dime ... e-detailed

Left 4 Dead and especially Zombie Army Trilogy really got tons more replay value with 4 players co-op.

though I excuse Z2 Chaos because it's their first ps4 game, and they remade Z2 Kagura's system for the
4 team system and other things.

they got 10 players multiplayer in Estival versus, so think Tamsoft is learning multiplayer better so they
can make quality 4 players co-op for the successor of Z2 Chaos. in the meantime, it is crucial that
Onechanbara Z2 Chaos sells really well in the west, that would boost incentive for more to be done with the series on ps4.
^.^

if people want more Onechanbara in the west, Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has to sell big in the west.

Lollipop Chainsaw sold at least a million internationally, which is better than a lot of niche games get.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos can do even better with the wealth of content, variety, customization and gameplay depth it has.

let's see.... DMC4 SE is already up to 5+ trailers, and Onechanbara Z2 Chaos only has 1 english teaser trailer,
and just releasing in about 4 weeks.

ah maybe they are waiting for capcom to run out of trailer steam before pumping up the Onechanbara Z2 Chaos
trailer series. XSEED did awesome with the Shinovi Versus trailers and character trailers especially.

and with Z Chaos focusing on 4 playable characters, they could provide even more indepth game system
and combo trailers, as well as promote more content, modes and features and stuff.

they really can't afford to sit on their hands on this release.

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has the chance to be a huge sleeper hit and mainstream success just like Demon's Souls.

actually, they can afford to really do what they want XD.

They know for a fact that people would already buy DMC because it is DMC, so it is smarter to hype up that game, than it is to hype up Onechanbara as it is niche is comparison.

If they were smart however, they could make a trailer like:
"From the people that brought you DMC series, comes Onechanbara"
etc etc.
pumping a niche game based on it's own merits is much harder than relating it via a conglomeration.

that is nonsense. that is not an attitude a publisher should have.

Neo Geo wouldn't have lasted as long as it did if it was like

"oh well, people are going to buy Genesis or SNES instead anyways, why bother maximizing our promotions and marketing efforts?"

no, Neo Geo went on to last for like about 2 generations after its 16 bit competition were collecting dust.
it had its weaknesses, but it went out swinging and made the most of its spotlight.

If they were smart however, they could make a trailer like:
"From the people that brought you DMC series, comes Onechanbara"

what? Tamsoft devs were involved with DMC games before?

If that's true that kinda reminds me of Examu having Samurai Shodown developers.

Neptunia is a niche game that turned into a successful growing franchise on its own merits!!

Onechanbara can succeed even more since stylish action is in demand and not as common as RPGs.

it's really based on the trailers exposed and how you promote it.

Look how even Diablo III and other games that tanked got themselves off the ground and became a success
through persistent trailers and educating the masses how great it is and how much better it is compared to its competition.

no one thought Demon's Souls could succeed in an industry that prefers easy games.

no one thought Minecraft would be so popular.

no one thought Lollipop Chainsaw would sell so much (well SUDA51 reputation helped, but still LC mostly sold
on its own merits. It's not a K5 sequel, and didn't have prequels before that.)

no one thought Dynasty Warriors would have as many games as it does now.

no one thought Senran Kagura would become a growing franchise, and it doesn't have any celebrity
or previous developer portfolios that stood out, it kept getting better and earned interest.

Onechanbara can easily become a mainstream series, but it's really based on how the publishers treat it and promote it.

if they are gonna have the Sega or Konami careless attitude with it, then they're basically throwing away something great in their hands that would benefit them in the future.

because making Onechanbara Z2 Chaos a success would
make the series more demanded, higher quality sequels made, and the publisher (east and west) would have more fame and profit from that.

aaah its June, the english localization promotional floodgates should open.

oh yea preorders get ARTBOOK, SOUNDTRACK and extra COSTUME . haha didn't know about the artbook and soundtrack part
until like long after I preordered.

well here are some epic gameplay videos, overall Onechanbara Z2 Chaos can each mainstream popularity with
enough informative youtube trailers to really build hype. also on gametrailers.com too, basically all major sites,
of course NEOGAF also can boost awareness and interest into its gameplay depth and great features!!!!

it can at least reach successful levels of niche support, but it can still surpass that too.
overall they just gotta treat it right and really promote it as good or better than Shinovi Versus promotions,
which actually had awesome character and gameplay trailers before release.
that has a lot of characters,
but Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has A LOT more depth for each of the 4 characters, so they can have more trailers
focus on each of them and the overall gameplay, modes, customization, upgrades, unlockables, etc!!!!

update, it is said that XSEED will announce a date next week and current ones are placeholder.

in a way that is cool because after E3, they can get more attention with the official date announcement.
this is a huge release, so promoting this right and educating the masses of its combat depth, this can become a sleeper hit like Demon's Souls for the action genre. ^.^
