Did no one notice that Phantom Brave Wii hasn't been sent to Europe...
It released on the PS2 in all regions but the Wii version hasn't be released for us in Europe.
It would be tolerable if it was as it was banned in all regions due to pornographic content or excessive violent but even MadWorld got everywhere but Germany (who are the UK's neighbours and can import the game without resorting to illegal actions).
Even Australia (nearly as bad as Germany) got it and even got it rereleased and repackaged with two other violent games (The Conduit isn't much in the language, violence and pornographic factors but meh) called "Welcome to Violence" and they don't even have an "18" rating which can be seen here:
http://www.vooks.net/story-18934-Sega-A ... -pack.htmlNotably the port of Phantom Brave for the PSP will have bonuses... I understand it is normal for Nippon Ichi to go Gaiden Sigma and make most of their ports so superior even after spending 100s of hours and not yet finishing, you want to buy the port (so even if you port it, I'm gonna be screwed and missing 5 bonus characters).
However, I can't tolerate the only avaliablity for the game in Europe being PSN.I've never even downloaded a PSN game for the PSP... and generally assumed that the only method to get it was to get a PSP Go out of lack of knowledge... Buying a game I have no receipt for, no case, no booklet, no security for in case the console is stolen doesn't sound tempting to say the least... It actually makes it no superior to the less legal methods of acquirement.
Much of the reason why I have avoided downloadable games and anime (as I have heard of recently) so far besides others... A lack of bonuses would be another one, I guess worth mentioning. No chance of me getting anything cool... Physical distribution is best for me... Having games avaliable in my country is awesome as well...
I would import but I'm not sure that importing represents my interest in the UK.
It counts as another buy in the US and makes it more likely you guys won't release more games here...
I'm more interested about importing when it comes to things not coming to my door normally, so Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen, rare swag, when a game is going to sell tons anyway or on impluse (I imported SSBB to get it early as there was no confirmed PAL release date, a mix of both), when I already have the game in my region (if I love it, I may get it twice... or heck three times) and such...
We need every game that gets translated to get to PAL regions...
Getting to PAL isn't just getting to the UK... it is getting to every country in the world assuming you have conquered Japan and NA as well. Those PAL games will be released in ALL OF EUROPE, AUSTRALIA AND YES EVEN AFRICA. It isn't a worldwide release when you cover three countries (US, Canada and Japan) and leave everyone else (including South Americans to any extent to struggle... PAL covers a HUGE number of countries (which I won't bother counting)...
Saying "dont forget us here in the EU......" doesn't begin to mention how Aussies are missing out or the whole of Africa is a potential base on top of Australia and Europe.
On top of that, I don't know what China's situation is in all of this...
I remember reading articles which implied they got the Nintendo Wii in 2008... two years late... and that is with high demand and all... Makes it sound like people are ignoring demand and supply, especially as the other consoles probably don't release in as many countries...
And these same companies have video game publishers boasting Worldwide Launch when besides being months off with the timing (looking at you Sony... would have liked the PS3 to be avaliable nearer to Christmas and not AFTER IT by 3 months).
I guess in conclusion, I can say... As this post has gone on for a while...
tl;dr version below:
RELEASE PHANTOM BRAVE ON THE WII IN PAL NOW!
MAKE A PHYSICAL OPTION FOR PAL PSP PORT NOW!
With the internet, everyone who uses it can be in every country in the world.
Youtube commenters and video directors who have interest could be anywhere and it is much less likely that interest would be reduced by different backgrounds now than it would have been decades ago.
Long first post is long.
