If it helps any, even though the sales may have fallen below the threshold needed to pay for a Wii port and a giant dub, there's the possibility they were good enough that if one of the games gets a PS3 port for the Japanese market, a partial dub might be feasible. Stay optimistic, don't listen to stealth20k, stiff upper lip ol' chap and all that. ;)

Did you change the thread title?

I would be surprised by a PS3 port/remake/sequel; after all, Valkyria had its follow-up downgraded to PSP. And there were some remarks elsewhere but I suppose that's me taking things too hard.

Yes

By the way, what did you think of 1up's billboard charts story? I like the idea if it sorts by genre and doesn't limit to the top 10.

Well, Valkyria Chronicles 2, unless it's magically a hit in the U.S. (it won't be), seems to have turned out to be a bit of a mistake. It only sold slightly more than the original; given the much larger PSP user-base in Japan and excellent word of mouth, must be disappointing for Sega. I can just about guarantee a PS3 sequel would've done better. On the other hand, it seems to be the smaller publishers that are moving back to the PS3 successfully, the larger Japanese publishers still seem to be floundering.

I'll take anything at this point, NPD is getting really frustrating. We don't even need numbers, as long as everything's listed in order, we can get a pretty good idea what's going on, especially when we get numbers on random titles from publishers.

Out of all the anime in the Sakura Wars series, the movie is by far the best. And Orihime gets loads of screen time, so you know it gets my approval. :D

I...personally found the movie rather slow and boring, and the plot jumped around too much for my tastes :| I liked the second and fifth OVAs much better.

Well, now that Sony won't accept it, there is only one thing left to do...send that Sakura Wars over to Microsoft son. Seriously, MS doesn't give a damn what it is, they'll approve it anyways because they follow this very simple rule: If it requires you to press a button anytime during the game, IT WILL BE PLAYED. I think that's the main reason MS even has a indie gaming section filled with crappy games and also the main reason why the Kinect even exist, because they want to see what would happen if you combine a hi-tec camera and mic with a controller (This assuming of course that you can even USE a controller with Kinect.).

But with Kinect there are no buttons, so a game doesn't even need buttons anymore :|

I don't think the game sold absolutely horrible, I think it just wasn't up to their expectations. Then again, who really knows besides the company itself?

I still have a sliver of hope for more Sakura Taisen. If not Sakura Taisen 1 & 2 then maybe, just maybe a port of the first game's Remake to the Wii or something. I don't care if there's no PS2 version, I'll buy it! In fact, I kind of want to buy more copies of So Long, My Love just to support it but... Well, money issues. :l

Oh well, hopefully not all hope is lost!

As for the movie, the only really good thing about it was Ratchet. (And she's really the only reason I watch it multiple times) Okay, her and the Kiseki no Kane performance in the beginning.

I'd still buy it though... Just cuz. >_>

So what would happen if sales of Sakura Wars drastically picked up for both systems? Would that help any, or is it too late?

Hey, you're back! Stay a while?

I was going to type more stuff, but it came out too depressing, so this will have to make due. Sorry. What have you been playing?

Darn, so everyone is quietly hiding to surprise me, right? Why am I still just being noticed now? lol. And yeah, I guess I'm back, don't worry.

I'm right in the middle of my second ST playthrough right now, so that's keeping me entertained. Planning on Ratchet. It's an unanimous decision, I think my two favorite ST5 girls are Diana and her, no question. The others don't really do it for me.

I was thinking about putting the rest of the series on my new netbook(the one I had before could run them fine, but it's out of commission for the time being), but I don't think it can handle the graphics of ST3 and 4.
