Opinions On Trillion God of Destruction?

Postby JonEra2210 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 12:14 pm

I bought the game, and was very excited to get home and play it. The artwork was amazing the story seemed pretty the legit in the beginning. But eventually their was just alot of repetition in cutscenes, and you spend most of your time training your character which requires you to simply press X and then spend the points. And the only "fun part" really is getting to fight mokujin or trillion. And that doesn't even feel rewarding. Also when one of your overlords die after spending so much time training them... you have to start it over with another overlord, and it just really seems like a slap in the face. I was really interested to see what happens in the end, but repeating this endless cycle doesn't seem worth it. I really wanted this game to be fun but all i see myself doing is trying to make excuses for why it might be fun. And i don't have anymore. But what did you guys think?

I feel like a lot of people jumped into the game expecting something completely different than what it actually was. Lack of research maybe? The whole VN/character-raising games don't seem to be really all that popular or that well-liked. I've played plenty of games like this before so I don't really mind it myself, I like them even.

So far, I've managed to defeat Trillion fairly early on in my first playthrough, chapter 2 in fact, so I still have a lot more scenes to go through for each Overlord and even the story. But also maybe because of beating it so early, the whole reset fatigue hasn't quite set in yet, though some stuff does get carried over making each consecutive run that much easier. I'm also actually enjoying the character-raising aspect itself so I don't know how long it'll be until I grow bored of it.

The game is definitely not perfect, I can point out several problems and imbalances it has right now, but overall I'm enjoying it plenty at the moment.
