Tink
. Useful as hell early on, not bad for a monster type, a fun character, and he's full of potential that we'll never probably get to see touched on.

He was my item world runner in Disgaea 2.

I use him as a backup when my Mothman dies.
Just don't like him. Although he's funny. I just.. don't.. like him.
It might be my bias against using more than one or two monsters. but xD
My usual party setup is 7-9 humanoids and fill the rest with monsters I like.
I've used the most amount of monsters in Disgaea 3 thanks to the fact they can pass thrown units on.
My usual team looks sorta like this:
Main chars (1:laharl, flonne, gordon, kurtis, 2:Adell, rozy, yukimaru) ,male warrior, female warrior, samurai, thief, gunner, archer, prinny
Though my disgaea 3 team atm is Mao, Almaz, Beryl, Champloo, Succubus, Nekomata, Thief, Gunslinger, Male Warrior, Healer. xD
Maybe if I got Tink DLC on Disgaea 3 I'd get used to him now that Monsters have been buffed further.. but I dont plan on getting much DLC because I don't own a PS3 just yet, and will have it by the time I get D4!
It's funny, Disgaea 3 is the first game (having multiple playthroughs of the first two) where I haven't used a Prinny.
Prinny named Karl each time, by the way. <.< XD

The trio will always be around. A Disgaea game without the trio is like a Final Fantasy without androgynous "men."

I know there must be FF games where I won't be able to find androgynous men, but I'm too tired to look it up. What about FFX? FFVI? FFIII? FFII?

FF X-2 was pretty lacking in that department

I really don't think we should be comparing cameos that will always be there (sadly) to character designs.

A better comparison would be like "A Disgaea game without flat chests and enormous melons is like a FinalFantasy without androgynous men."

I didn't know prinnies were useful; I've never really used 'em in any game come to think of it.

As for Asagi and Etna, Asagi doesn't have fans because she has a wonderful, consistent character/personality. She has fans because she can be awesome and really funny in a pathetic way; plus, it's nice to randomly find her in any NIS game. Like an easter egg. :)
Etna seems as funny and awesome as she's ever been to me (especially when she does previews :D ). I doubt she'd show her soft, developed side around a new cast she doesn't know. She probably does it around her old friends whenever something serious happens; around new characters, it'd make her look weak. Etna tries to seem tougher than she is (emotionally anyway), like in the first game. Cause she's stubborn, like Laharl (who pretended not to miss her when she left, though it was OBVIOUS that he did and was just trying to come up with an excuse).

I say bring on as many cameos as possible; it adds to the badass-ness of my team and gives bragging rights if the fight to get them was hard. ;)

I don't even think its POSSIBLE for me to get sick of them

If they WEREN'T a cameo in a game, I'd be unhappy. I mean, at least give one of them lol.

And for all those who add comments about them not showing their character development from the main game in cameos.. it can always be argued that the cameos took place WITHIN the time of Disgaea 1 (Well, some of them at least). Its always possible that there could have been decent time gaps within the different story arcs to have given room for some of their shenanigans in other games. :D

... That would be a painfully twisted and convoluted argument.

Considering the only reason they and cameos in general appear is so you can add them to your party, leaving them out would be pointless.

I don't mind one as long as it's Flonne. I haven't had much of her at all.

They're okay, they've got decent stats after a few tiers, but they're outclassed by alot of other human/monster classes. I just love Prinnies. xD

Hard to believe, considering Disgaea 2 is set 3 years after the events of Disgaea 1 (Etna, Laharl and Flonne are all 3 years older according to the book, iirc.), And Flonne is already a Fallen Angel.

Thats.... actually a good point I overlooked. All of Flonne's cameos as a fallen angel kinda ruin that argument lol. Oh well, I tried.

Flonne gets on my nerves but the other two I don't mind at all
