A Good Time to Reverse Pirate?

I'm fairly new to the Disgaea scene and have just picked up and started D4. I'm about to receive Desco (I think?) and by pure bloody luck I got a bill passed for making my own pirate ship. Now, I know early on in the game like I am I shouldn't be too worried about EXP and Mana and such, but I would like to know when would be a good time to start setting sail for the more "badass" Innocents...any helpful comments or anything, anyone?

Sorry for a late answer. But actually you could do already reverse pirate, at least if you use low level items to do it. YOu can sue it on items where you did clear 20 levels into them. Anyway you really first need it propably after the maingame.
