NIS/Disgaea fighting game

Came up in the Disgaea 5 thread, so here is a topic for it.

Idea is simple, a fighting game based on NIS properties, do you think it possible to translate these characters into a fighting game.

What style of fighting game (IE, SF, Vs series, Smash bros, Powerstone, ect...)
(personally I'd go for something between Capcom's vs series and Smash bros so we could have as many characters as possible with over the top moves translated into the fighting engine)

What you think it would be like?

How many characters would you want in it?

and who do you think from each game would fit?

I think an NIS fighting game would work best with the BlazBlue engine.

As for who's in it? Um...Everybody? I mean seriously, go all out here.

Everybody from Marona to Gold Knuckle and back. Yes, seriously, Gold Knuckle.

theres also mugen you know freeware program to make characters into a fighting game. its free of copyrights since its free and stuff google it theres disgaea chars alredy for it. I am actually making one myself.

as for the ppl in it obviously every main char from the series and there you go lol.

Yeah if we go the 52 max (like Marvel vs Capcom 2 had), yes mostly recycled sprites, but these fighters these days are nuts, it may be possible to not only get every good story character but have lots of space left over.

It would probably be best if you didn't just list the cast off, I mean honestly, some of those guys are total nobodies, who the hell cares about hogmieser? And Dracula dude is so generic he became a generic class even.

Would picture it being a smash bros style game to be honest, as I can't imagine a serious fighter based off the franchise doing so well, and smash bros style games lend themselves to more crazy things happening and more freedom of movement and running around

I agree, what I listed is what we call a (rough list), basically imagine the highest possible roster *usually about 52-60 characters* and then when the development team gets the deadline and you estimate how many characters you will be able to fit in, along with balance checks and testing the engine for glitches and infinite loops and what have you, you can then begin the process of weeding out the extras.

*oh yes, a great deal on my list would be weeded out, especially if given a more realistic list of about 34 or so. At such time you would see me vote to remove characters like Maderas and Hoggmeiser, *Taro and Hanako would also be on my chopping block before most of the others I listed: Asuka and Kyoko I could work into the move set of Raspberyl, Seraph Laminton and Aurum likewise into the moves of Flonne and Mao (if not outright remove them).

it's like the Marvel vs Capcom 3 initial list (some of which were brought into Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3) but some on their initial list like Cyclops, Luke Cage, Black Panther, Dr. Octopus, Venom, and Juggernaut, never made it back. *believe it or not Ghost Rider was left out of the original vanilla version because the game designers thought he'd be too punchy and couldn't incorporate his Motorcyle in all his moves. It took the fans on two forums basically to point out to Capcom that Ghost Rider doesn't stay on the motorcycle all the time and uses his chain like a whip: also helped that Marvel pointed this out.

Shame Capcom for
Tatsunoko vs Capcom didn't realize the fans arn't all totally insane *Phoenix Wright had been taken off the initial list for that game because they wanted his legs not to move like stay on a segway or behind a desk, and left out Speed Racer because they couldn't incorporate a car into a standard moveset even though the character can and does fight outside his car.
(amongst various excuses to weed down the initial list)

and DC Universe vs Mortal Kombat, the designers stated they had over 60 DC characters that were initially on their rough list that they had to vote and argue on (naturally the biggest names were kept, and let go of those they felt would be too simular to others like Captain Marvel).

SInce I don't think the rooster would be that big I would say. If a NIS fighting game came out I would want it to be simple but very fun like Ougon Musou Kyoku

It'd be nice if there would be team attacks in a way too. Like, a 2 vs 2 mode where certain character combinations have certain special attacks. (Like, main character couples who can do a combination attack and Tink and a female character doing a move where the female smashes Tink into the enemy after he does something pervy. Something like that.)
Just a random thought.

Well the protagonists and female heroines of each game are must haves if NIS actually decides to do this, but if there's any other character we could have, I hope it's Yukimaru or Demon Lord Hanako from Disgaea 2. They're pretty useful and powerful, and not to mention that they're just...so darn cute.
