To Employee Blog and Beyond!

Howdy partners,

This is just a little announcement to let everyone know we're planning on launching our Employee Blogs sometime next week. It will be open for NISA members to read and comment on. I think it'll be a great opportunity for any of you interested in the company or the video game industry to learn about NISA and its employees. So yeah, check that out next week!

Anyway, there's a wish on Pram's Wish List asking us to make some online (Flash?) games and it got me thinking about what to do next. We're going to be upgrading and expanding upon our existing web services, but since all of these websites are for you guys, the fans, I wanted to know what you would have us do. If any of you have any bright ideas, please post a reply to this announcement or throw it up on Pram's Wish List. If an idea seems like it has enough support and the work required is within reason, then we'll do our best to set it up!

Well, there was some wish about a Virtual Prinny game on the wishlist. That sounds like an awesome game. Some sort of personalised web-game where you have a virtual Prinny as a pet.

Haha, that's what Pram's Wish List is there for! I personally read as many as possible and I know a lot of others here at NISA do the same.

I like that idea! I'll pass it on for sure. I'll be writing something up for it on the blog, but if anyone wants an avatar of theirs to show up when you comment, then you'll need to open a gravatar.com account. Just make sure you set it up under the e-mail address your NISA members account is registered to!

I'd like to know the logic behind NISA's translation style. There have been some times when the translations have been really creative... to say the least. I mean, turning a gobi like 'gozaru' to 'zam' is kind of...

Clephas, that's what localization is all about. If they weren't creative, it wouldn't be fun to play, right? Finding the right balance between getting the meaning down and making it enjoyable to partake in at the same time must be the hardest part.

Could you talk about how NISA decides which games to localize? You could do a mini procedure of what happens

Could you talk about the NISA staff's favorite games (including NIS/Gust stuff)?
