Is Disgaea DS a bad port of Disgaea 1?

Either way, Disgaea doesn't shines on its story, more so how wacky and funny it is. I'll admit that it does suck that the DS version doesnt have voice acting in most of it's voice acting scenes. But its still a very fun game because of it's gameplay.

Disgaea 1 shined in its story.
The one thing about the series that I've hated is the fact that it became so focused on the stupid 4th wall breaks, and wackiness, on 2 and beyond.

I didn't like the altered Voices in the PSP version... so, I think I'll be sticking with my PS2, thank you~

The MCs piss me off in D1 but all this talk is making me want to actually play D1 again and I never thought that would happen.

i wonder why you were surprised. Ps2 is stronger than a nintendo ds so... you dont have to be surprised if the visual aspect of the game is ... weak.
