The problem was a low-budget and little effort and experience from the developer. :?

Was this Hit Maker's 1st game or their 1st RPG?

Were any of these games any good?
The only one that I've even heard of is Witch's Tale.

Although the game is short, there are a few walkthroughs out there that can help you when you get stuck.

Oh well at least the prinny gave me a challenge (but leveled me up to high-ly so that the last boss fought like a generic monster) but that

Rented this one recently out of morbid curiosity. About 5-6 hours with the extra bosses (damn you orange 4, making me wait 10 minutes to get out of status effects).

Well, I'd have to say that Nine's character archetype is the one I hate the most out of all Japanese character archetypes, in any form. Everytime I heard him speak I wanted to get up and punch my TV. The rest of the characters I liked, especially Jacob. Then again, Michael McConnohie's voice is my fetish so maybe I'm a little biased on that one.

I thought the combat system was somewhat entertaining. If more effort was put into the story and settings, maybe get a party system going (Jacob and Sephi seemed like decent candidates for that) it could have been pretty damn fun to play. The real lack of story and difficulty in the bosses though... kinda killed it.

It was an average game, nothing too great, a little on the awful side but not nearly as bad as I had heard. At least it saved me from grinding out B-Spec levels in Gran Turismo 5 for a night or two, so I can give it a thumbs up for that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The game is short, so that makes renting it a reasonable choice, although I bought it and I don't regret. I just wish I could control Sephi and maybe other characters as well. Making a team would be really nice.

I hope it's not the "status" cat. There's one that spams bad status, and it makes a huge time to kill him, if you don't get a game-over before.

Its the very same :) he already caused me 2 game overs and over an hour of waiting (that was when he was casting bad stats galore) and that music that plays while you fight it only makes it worse ...
Spoiler:
its like its siding with the kitty orange box
now this time i'm gonna try and "one move kill" him or "it" if thats possible
