Nagi's Art

Postby leinaud » Mon May 07, 2012 11:12 pm

So...I was on a 凪良 / 名木良 (nagi / NAGI Ryou) kick today and went hunting for his stuff. For those who don't know, he is the artist behind the Ar Tonelico character art. He has a website here called S.E.C. and regularly does Comiket events and sells mini art books. Good stuffs IMO.

Recently, he has produced character art for Steel Chronicle, an arcade mech FPS game in Japan (website here) and has provided illustrations for a few light novels published in Dengenki's mag as well as a manga called "Heavy Object" (which was only one volume but has been completely fan-translated). Most recently he was the character designer for CAVE's new arcade shooter DoDonPachi Saidaioujo. Website is here and English info is here. Sadly, I just missed the pre-sale date (yesterday) for the 2CD remixed soundtrack for the game which included a nice little art book as well. *pouts*

Anyway, I really enjoy his works and thought I would share it with you guys. And with that, I shall leave you with one of my favorite illustrations from S.E.C. Katana:

I must say, that is a rather gloriously tight hiney good sir.

Yeah, a mate of my who hasn't even played Ar Tonelico recognised the artist after seeing the front cover of Ar Tonelico 3 and linked me to the artist's website. Must be pretty unique!

There are english sites that ship from japan if you know where to look, I can look up the ones I used.
