It's worked before.

Honestly, if Gust could get the Ar Tonelicos, Mana Khemias, and Atelier Irises on PS2 Classics I'd buy them all in a heartbeart. Provided I had the money.

Seriously. I would love to play Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of Metafalica on my next gen system through the PS2 Classics! That'd be a easy buy for me. I own all three Ar Tonelicos now but I would love to play it on my main system.

I would definitely buy Makai Kingdom and Soul Nomad if released on PSN.

Or even better if HD collections were released, I'd buy any PS2 NIS games again.

Yeah, I would too. I just can't seem to find Soul Nomad or Makai Kingdom anywhere! I want them soooo bad... :geek:

It's actually up to the devs, right? Why the heck are they so afraid of PSN? Actually, it seems like Japanese devs in general are afraid of uploading their games on PSN. I mean, I can understand for something like Final Fantasy which has probably 9001 GB for all their FMVs, but I don't think the PS2 Gust and NIS games are all *that* big.

Agreed. Also, I think it is up to the devs, but I could be wrong.

Well, it's up to the devs if they still own the IP, if not their publisher needs to give the go-ahead.
Besides, it's not like they can just immediately upload the games to PSN, they need to tinker with them to get them to work, and that's going to take time and money. Therefore if they're not sure they can make a profitable return on it, they will refrain from attempting.

I know this is a super old thread, but I just wanted to throw my hat in here saying it would be awesome to see Ar Tonelico 1 and 2 as PS2 classics on the PSN. Was thinking about picking up 3 before it's "gone forever" (read: rare), but considering it's technically part of an over-arching story ... I'm a bit hesitant.

Ar Tonelico Qoga is technically standalone and can be played without having played the others. It just... helps... with understanding what's going on. XD

I did it without playing any other Ar Tonelico game, and it was just fine. Also, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is coming to the NA PSN Store as a PS2 Classic.

Where'd you learn that? Not doubting you, just wondering if you found some reliable place that reveals what gets released on PSN and when.
