Wow. So this is what went on a couple of years back. Silly reason to sue for copyright. It's like if you're not allowed to use the word Country in any other game title because Nintendo (or is it RARE) owns the right to the word because of the Donkey Kong Country Trilogy. I doubt it's true. In any case, it's still silly.

All trademarks have been cancelled as of a few days ago.

It was because someone trademarked a word and used that to try and (mostly successfully) bully small devs who dare use the word in their title.
Eventually they were stripped of everything after foolishly trying to go after EA for Mirror's Edge, as they could fight back.

But it does seem like Cross Edge was the last game he targeted.

Well, actually, Mirror's Edge was definitely the last.

I am surprised they didn't go after Adam Copeland.

So, can NIs use "Cross Edge" freely?

If so they could bring back the site they had to to remove.

On the other hand, will NIS sue or take some sort of legal action on this matter?

They should be able to, yes. Langdell lost his rights to the word and all of them have been officially revoked by now.

And I doubt they'd take any legal action as it's a closed case and they're probably too small to really try suing for damages.

The game's been out for several years now, so bringing back the website wouldn't do much at this point. They really should change back the name of the forum though, it looks so out of place...

I'm sure you can find it used somewhere without much trouble.

I actually have Cross Edge, I got it used at a GameStop sometime last year I think (2014) and wasn't even aware of this crazy nonsense. I had to go pretty far out of my way to get a copy though.

Also to NISA how hard is it to change the forum title back to Cross Edge? There is no further point in it still being "Cross E... that is no longer".

---
I'm downloading all of the free DLCs now and when I ever get the money I will also purchase the paid DLCs as well. It will cost $38.81 to buy all of the paid DLCs.

I had to go look it up. We're coming up on two years since Langdell lost rights to "Edge."
