We are sad to say the website has gone MIA indefinitely... and I'm sorry, I can't say much about why, because of legal reasons, namely an IP conflict with the game title :(

I noticed that the game itself is off NISA's website and list of games. Does that mean that the game is no longer going to be in print or available for backorder now?

I'm guessing that professional troll Tim Langdell has struck again.

Hopefully EA can scrap his stupid patent as soon as possible.

This guy can't be for real right? I mean, really? Trademarking a common word and suing video game companies because they dared using it? Please tell me I'm reading this wrong.

Unfortunately you're not reading it wrong.

EA are currently trying to get his trademark revoked after he tried and failed to sue them over the IP title Mirror's Edge. Hopefully his morally questionable activities will be ceased in the not too distance future.

Watch me go trademark the entire alphabet, then no one could use a word without owing me. >:D
But, edge? really? I'd understand if it was made up like, oppernastorpopindoodle  .
But edge...

This is such a fail.

1. Who cares if it has the name Edge is in the title as long as it's not stealing your trademark.

2. Cross Edge has been out for over a year now and just now doing this and in Japan almost 2 years.

3. There's many games with the word Edge in them, and also tv shows, and just about anything has the word Edge in it so does that mean anything with the word Edge in it should be removed?

I say just leave Cross Edge alone since there's nothing wrong with the title and doesn't conflict with any existing IP out there.

He apparently sees it otherwise. The article mentioned him trying to sue EA over Mirror's Edge ( but i think he lost ).
And he was about also harassing Namco over Soul Edge, which they then changed to Soul Blade

The Wiki site for Edge Games makes for one of the funniest video game related reads ever

I couldn't stop laughing when I read the battle between Langdell and Mobigames over Mobi's game "Edge"
Some of the stuff is hilarious especially:
- Langdell demanding royalties + a subtitle to Mobi's game titled ("A Homage to Bobby Bearing")

The kicker was that Edge only retailed for $0.99 :? So Mobigames did all that fighting and constant posting/removing of their "Edge" game for such a (potentially) small profit..... :? :|

What I find pathetic is that NISA had to get the license for "Edge" in Cross Edge from Edge Games :?

I guess all these games with the word Edge in them is driving him off the Edge.
