Greatest Game Ever!

At the time, I thought it was...

It deserves a sequel or at least spiritual successor.

Hmm, I think it deserves a "complete" remake. (As in the old Lunar: SSS COMPLETE, thing)

There were lots of rumors that MK was rushed to meet the deadline and lots of things were scrapped from production. If those were true, I would love to see the game in it's planned glory.

Yeah, I loved Makai Kingdom. It is my favorite of NIS's games.

There were a lot of unique ideas in MK like vehicles and facilities. MK also had some pretty cool monsters like the Carrots, Corns, Darkstalkers, Mana Spheres and the Hell Kitties. Along with these monsters were some sweet weapons like the guns, flamethrowers, and morning stars.

MK also had some of my all time favorite VG songs like Burning Fighting Spirit, Super Cool No.1 and Wild Mood.

If RosenQueen had the soundtrack, I'd probably snag it right away.

Lord Zetta rules!

Makai is still my favorite NIS SRPG too although cut scenes did seems a little like afterthoughts. Hopefully the will be a sequel for the PS3. 8-)

I agree,

But if they do make a sequel, or a remake I hope they use Crispin Freeman again as Zetta's voice actor, and not that other guy from disgaea 2.

I dunno, It's just a pet peeve of mine

I fell in love with Pram more than Zetta... but then, I'm a sucker for the manipulative type. I do think the scenes could have used a bit more depth, because the plot actually had some potential, despite being so silly.

I never had a chance to play Makai Kingdom, but I always have loved the concept, and character design to find out more about it, so yeah I totally would get the sequel or spiritual successor

This game gave birth to the best character ever, Asagi...and Zetta is pretty bad-ass too.

I'm finishing this soon, loving this. The battle system is just so much fun. Plus, the huge weapons, the cast, vehicles, etc. If only they could use the re-incarnation system from Disgaea...this game would be unstoppably fun.

I agree Makai Kingdom is an excellent game. I was so looking forward to Makai Wars. With the game coming out on both the PSP & PS3. I would have enjoyed both versions even if they would be mostly the same. I think it would be cool to see Nippon Ichi remake Makai Kingdom for the PSP or PS3. But I would prefer Nippon Ichi to make & finish Makai Wars instead. Asagi would have made a great lead character in Makai Wars. So I was really looking forward to that game. I hope down the line Nippon Ichi does decide to make more games in the makai series. Because the first was great & I think the next ones would be just as great.

it is true makai kingdom was rushed through production at its time and had errors in it, though it turned out very good especially the characters the voice actors and such i think that they should concentrate on maybe either remakeing it or makeing maki wars

Makai Kingdom is the game that convinced me to pledge my loyalty to NIS for life! It's not as difficult or beloved as the Disgaea series but the characters, voice acting and gameplay was so awesome that its supposed inferiority did not matter. I doubt this one will get a remake with bonus content, but it'd be amazing if it did...unless the JP exclusive PSP re-release counts as a remake.
