Toradora! Box Set 1 Premium Edition

Hi,

I've still got some episodes to finish but I really like the series and would like to get the premium DVD boxsets.

It seems the V2 boxset is plentiful but I wouldn't really want one without the other and I cannot find V1 boxset in stock anywhere.

Do you think NISA will restock this product? Looking at another post it seems they did for V2.

They've already restocked it at least once. Odds are pretty good that the standard edition is the permanent replacement.

The thing is, I have a feeling the production on the first set was cut short due to the issues with the quality of the initial discs. But now that the discs have been remastered there's no reason that NISA couldn't release more of the Premium sets.

I'm also interested in seeing Premium Box 1 restocked, as I created a Wish List request for it a little while back. I can guarantee that the few people you see on this site asking about it aren't the only ones looking for it. I've spoken to friends who have said that they would definitely like to have the Premium set for Toradora as well, but wouldn't buy them unless they can get both, as the OP mentioned.

I don't see why it would be a problem either way. NISA should give their customers the option to pick which version they would like to buy at any rate. I personally wont be buying the Standard edition and will hold out for a Premium restock.

A show like Toradora really benefits from all of the extras included in NISA's Premium set, and they are one of the few companies trying to put the quality back into the packaging of their anime releases. This is also one of the very few shows I would be willing to double-dip with if they're able to produce a dub for it and release it on Blu-ray with the new OVA episode included. That would be my greatest hope for Toradora, and would garner a large amount of respect from me if NISA could fulfill both of these requests.

I just don't see it happening. Any kind of premium version is pretty much always going to be a first-print run from any publisher. The longer a series is out, the more barebones the releases become.

Just have to wait and see I guess - what makes it more annoying is the premium is only around $10 more expensive than the standard edition (although I suppose even if it is possible to find the original premium edition it might have disc issues).

And they came through for us with more Premium vol. 1s! I'm really glad they were able to produce more. Those of you who wanted it should buy your copies while you still have the chance!

Now the only thing left is the eventual possibility of a Blu-ray release with an English dub including the OVA episode. (I am ever hopeful! ) NISA has my full support after restocking vol. 1, and I really hope they keep up the good work.

I wouldn't really count on an English dub on the Blu-ray considering the other Blu-ray releases are not dubbed either even though Toradora is one of NISA's top-selling anime series they have brought out so far. The new OVA episode though will most likely be included.

Even if I don't have the OVA and even though it's my favorite anime series, I'd be hard pressed to double dip on Toradora blu-ray without a dub.

NISA needs to stick to their guns and look into a dub if they bring over the blu-ray since they said they'd consider it if it sold well and best as I can tell it's sold pretty well. There are also guaranteed sales when its dubbed since a lot of people specifically refrained from buying because it wasn't but just about all of them that I've seen said they would in a heartbeat if it was.

Not sure how many that really means, but it's definitely some.

They did release more, but it was in very limited quantities. (Only NISA really knows how many were actually put out.) I've been watching this situation very closely, they sold out within a few days of being restocked, and unfortunately I've seen more than a handful show up on eBay at twice the price just to be resold for a profit. Shame on those people who bought it just to do that. Some people selling it weren't even offering the replacement discs with it that came with their NISA purchase, but were more than happy to include the poster. How sad. I just wish there was a way for me to call them out on it, but that's not something eBay would want to promote.

After this run though, I highly doubt NISA will put more of them out there, even though they're probably still likely to sell, and they still have plenty of Vol. 2 Premium editions to push. It's unfortunate, but I'd say it's worth a shot to send them a mail if you'd like to see them release more. Otherwise second-hand sellers might be one of your only other options.

Dang I really wish I had started looking for it sooner then I might have been able to pick one of these up. I have the vol. 2 premium edition and even though I have the vol. 1 standard edition would really love to get the premium edition to complete the set, I'd be willing to pay like $120 for it too. I've looked around and no one is selling it though. *sigh* Guess I'll just e-mail NIS and hope for another reprint, even though that's is highly unlikely to happen.

Very odd that NISA won't print anymore of the Premiums since they sold so well. They could make much more money and maybe finally have enough to release the bluray of ToraDora. Let NISA hear you guys!

I just recently saw an add with someone selling both Toradora Premium Edition Boxsets 1 & 2 in great condition for a fairly good price, considering what Amazon and eBay is selling them for. Here's the link to them:
