THE [email protected]

Postby Rydux » Fri Jul 08, 2011 8:27 pm

Based on Namco Bandai's hit game series "THE [email protected]"
THE [email protected] is originally a game about an unnamed protagonist (name's decided on the Player) who is always referred to as "Producer", who becomes in charge in leading a group of idols.
I haven't seen the Summer 2011 line up, so I was surprised when I saw this come up, and overjoyed as well.
I found it entertaining, and the character designs and animation was great as well in my opinion.
The first episode acted as a prologue, but throughout it all, I kept thinking "Where the -beep- is Mr. Producer??".
Believe in the Future, persist in the Present.

So, now that the series has shown all 25 broadcast episodes*, has anyone else been following the series; and if so, how well do you think it has progressed?

*Apparently there will be a 26th on the BD release next year.

For my part, I thought it ticked along quite nicely; and I'm hoping they can work up a second season, espcially if it can have more room at the inn for the Bannam-pro trio:

Saw the first two episodes. Okay, but they didn't convince me to watch further.

Damn, episode 20 had me in tears in a split second at that one part~ They just came out. Usually theres a build up that I can try and stop, but damn, they just came out. I wasn't sobbing or anything, they just came out.

Oh, man. I know. I loved that episode. Best one in the series. That was the highlight of the whole show for me. I didn't cry, though, but I came pretty close. Still haven't managed rolling tears in ages, but this and Umineko ep8's ending just about did me in.

I know man, it just happened. The moment she started singing the tears just came flowing. But I wasn't sobbing or anything, the only anime thats been able to do something like that was Spirited Away.

Just finished Episode 9 ~

I've been crying every episode

I plan to finish this tomorrow. I've already cried for 17 episodes of anime today. My eyes need rest

Spoiler:
The feeling, of not getting to be with a sibling you were always around and grew up together with, I know all too well. I used to play games with him, and watch anime with him, and even just play games in front of him all the time. Then, my younger brother ended up joining the Airforce. I'm super happy for him, but, like Mami said, 'it sucks'. I'm really looking forward to when he's possibly going to get to spend time with us for two weeks.

And then my other 'brother' someone who I knew since the third grade, one day he told me that he was going to move to Finland. The final day before he left was the most sad day of my life, I cried nonstop the entire drive home...We always were with each other, playing video games side by side (often times different games  ). Watching anime. Listening to music. Visiting each other's houses. Even working together at points.

It really sucks when the people who you've spent all your life with end up on a path that separates from your own. So, that time you get to spend together is more precious than anything else.

I can't wait to watch more episodes of this show ~

Hey, I wanna cry too! *poutface*

Does this anime get better later on?

I wouldn't say that, but it's just not great or anything. (Only 2 episodes in btw.)

Well, I'd say the first two episodes are basically character intros. I still enjoyed them greatly, but I'd say it gets much more interesting starting episode 3

I'll have to watch some next weekend. (Unless we're out for snow tomorrow, which is a very likely possibility.)

Yes, it gets better, but how much better depends on whether or not you like the formula at all. If you get bored with it, we can just list our favorite episodes and you can watch those and move on.
