Oh, I loved it one point (first episode). xD After that... KA BOOOOOOOOOOM.

That was short lived then. A 2/10 sure is harsh.

The show went down-hill. Though, for me, it took till the second season to really start getting ridiculous. I liked the first season

I gave it a 8/10 myself, I mean the last episode didn't make much sense which stopped me giving it any higher. But the second half of the show is when things got dark and super serious. You get to see what a seemingly hopeless situation could do to people and the lengths people go to for self preservation. It was an almost complete 180 in the tone of the show so yeah, I can see why it in particular destroyed any enjoyment you might have had from the first half.

Either way, yes, the mahjong was done very well. I really need to learn how to play so I can get the rules better.

The cliffnotes version:

You have 14 tiles, you need to form 4 sets of 3 and a pair to go out. Sets of 3 can be either 3 of a kind or a straight. Suits are circles, characters, and bamboo (the peacock is the 1 of bamboo), and there are a bunch of special sets like winds, white/blank, (I think the green one is wealth?), center (the "red sword"), that you can only form 2- or 3-of-a-kind with.

Every turn you draw 1 tile and discard 1 tile. You can take another player's discard to form a revealed set of 3, in which case the turn skips to you and you take the discard as your draw. However, you score higher if you keep your hand concealed until going out.

I'm not familiar with some of the other rules used in the anime or the scoring. I vaguely know the method for taking your starting tiles (you roll 2 die and count tiles starting from a certain spot in front of the first player, taking tiles clockwise), and you draw continuing clockwise except in the cases of certain special actions (like Saki's kan, which I don't know how to call) where you draw from the "end" instead.

£5 a month? All that unlicensed for DVD/Blu Ray anime they have on there. Seems like a fair deal to me.

I've registered and set up a premium account there. So now I can add Saki to my watch list.

I noticed yesterday, but the student council president in Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka has the same voice actress as Neptune. Man, on the cast alone this anime is great, the show itself is pretty decent as well.

Finished up Air. Overall not as bad as I remembered it, but that ending still drags it down a lot. Best part is definitely the Summer specials, not even something in the main series.

I just finished Kiss x Sis. It wasn't too bad save for the damn chicken censors. Anyway I'm kicking off my top priority watches with Deadman Wonderland. After this I'm starting Shiki, Mirai Nikki, and Steins Gate.

The OVA's are superior to the series in my opinion.

And it's manga is superior to both of those. Sadly, I disliked the series itself, it was too softcore and boring.


Anyways, finally finished rewatching Mushishi. Think I'll go finish Ano Natsu or start on Fate/Zero now.

I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with a character in just the first episode of an anime but after seeing Gasai's infamous expression towards Yukiteru I have to say...I'm rather smitten.
