Kanon's arc was terrible in the anime. Was she better in the manga?

She's my favorite character, so I'm a little biased but basically the entire plotline about being in Citron was not in the manga, it was in the bonus 4-koma in the tanks. She should've taken 1 less episode, Shiori should've taken 1 less episode, then they could've ended the season with Kusunoki's arc, with the actual foreshadowing in with regards to Haqua. Maybe it would've made an awkward start to season 2 having Haqua's arc right off the bat, but there's more plot so it would be easier to keep the audience interested.

Note that I do agree that, overall, the arc was bad. It was awesome to see it animated, though, and Touyama Nao was really good as her VA.

More edits: It's really too bad that they screwed up Kanon's arc, since it was what really drove me to keep reading the manga. The initial premise was interesting, very VN-parody, where the hero has to conquer the heroines or die himself. But when he added how the spirits actually changed the heroines (made Kanon invisible), that was just really cool to me.

If you like TWGOK at all, I strongly urge you to read the manga. There's an arc around chapter 55-60 that really blows everything out of the water, compounded by a chapter in the early 100's that just sets up a completely epic arc.

Shiori's arc was better, but at that point, the anime had suffered a lot. The first two girls were good, and I really enjoyed them, but it went downhill from there though. (I still need to finish the second season)

But yeah, I want to get to reading the manga though (the number of chapters is daunting xD)

Meh, the series started out as a hardcore parody, antisocial eroge player is forced to seduce girls in real life, hence why the "conquests" are rather ridiculous. This is explained later, the runaway spirits amplify the host's negative emotions (not sure when exactly).

Also, season 2 is way better than season 1, mostly because Wakaki already pulled you in for the long haul, so the longer conquest arcs are much more interesting since they proceed in real-time rather than in flashbacks or daydream sequences.

Would be better to see the glorious beginning of the Goddess arc being animated, to be honest. Kanon's own arc is okay, but that little thing she pulls there is just awesome. And hilarious. And everything.

And then around fifty or sixty (maybe I'm just exaggerating, but it really feels that long) chapters of fucking nothing at all as the manga drags on and on. Thank god that's over.

Watched the Asa made Jugyou Chu! Ova. It's a fun little Ova to watch if you like this kind of stuff, it's definitely not for everyone though. I'm somewhat dissapointed they didn't make a TV series for this, because I see a lot of potential.

Started watching Ano Natsu (watched the first episode). It's pretty obvious the final pair should be him and Ichika.

This is why I don't usually watch romance anime's, the end is always a cop out or the guy winds up with what I think is the wrong girl.

In this case if he wound up with Hanna I would just find that to be fucking stupid.
