While I won't say you're outright wrong, I will say that I never heard anything close to what you wrote, whereas I did see in multiple online articles that the movie was an alternate universe/mythos.

I hated the movie, personally, so the further it is from the original series, the better, to me.

It's an alternative setting, as in the movie.

I personally didn't mind the movie but since I saw the series already, lots of stuff had me going wtf and parts were disappointing. Though long haired Eureka is always nice.

Just finished ep 9

Really disappointed in this anime as it seemed to have so much promise . Fighting secrets every week is really starting to get boring : /.

Oh My God...
Spoiler:
12 episodes and BONES finally shed some light in the fate of some of the original cast.
Though i'm very disappointed in the fact it's based in another world. I wanted to know what became of the world of the world of the original Eureka Seven after they triggered the Second Summer of Love.

For those that are still watching this, does it feel like the creators made the story a bit more complicated then it really needed to be ? Just feels they are all over the place with the story ,and majority of it makes no sense any more :?

I'm still enjoying it immensely, and have no trouble keeping up. That might be because there's nothing to really keep up with, yet, just a lot of sneaking around, whispered conspiracies, and evil smirking, but I'm fine with it.

I do like that there are visible villains that do villainy things throughout the show, instead of "the secret big boss/organization" who never gets revealed and somehow, after the fact, all the events end up orchestrated by said big bad. It's nice to watch the show and be like "Oh, I hate that guy, what a villainous villain!"

Maybe if you haven't seen the original series, or it's not too fresh in your mind, it gets confusing? I don't know :?

They're slowly fleshing out the link between original E7 and AO *shrug* I always enjoyed it, so I can't really answer if it "got better" since it's been good for me :X

Episodes 23 and 24 (END)

What the **** I don't even.

EDIT:

Spoiler:
Protip: "Resolving" all hanging plot points by changing history so none of it actually happened does not a satisfying end make.

Well, I'm glad I dropped this long ago.

Frankly, with AO and Aquarion EVOL (So much hate for that damnable sequel), I lost faith in sequel series.

I'm currently watching good ol' Original Eureka Seven on Toonami. The first episodes were more exciting than anything I had watched in AO.

Honestly, I really liked the show up through episode 23. The "resolution" in 24 is what severely dragged the series down. E7 without Renton as the main character also really made it better for me ;x could barely stand that snot in the original.
