I was assuming that it would be on the "Doublejump" site...but I haven't come across it :(
Now that I've pre-ordered the game-I'd sleep better at night knowing that the strategy guide was also pre-ordered :P

*Please*, *Please*, *Please*:Don't tell me that this is gonna' be yet another SRPG w/o a guide---(Like Agarest)?

I know that it's off-topic, but, I've seen some "Agarest-Related" 'stuff' in some of your sigs...What did those of you who have played it think about it...pros/cons?
I already bought & downloaded it-but haven't had a chance to start it yet...because I'm *still* working on that damned Cross-Edge platinum
Any of you get that plat.?

It's in my sig purely because it has a catgirl in it xD I've only played about 30 minutes of Agarest senki (The JP imported version). It seemed fun enough though. Also, sorry but, I really don't think a strategy guide will be out for this game. It shouldn't be that hard to do everything in this game though. There's no overworld, so you just have to throughoughly explore the dungeons and make sure to do lots of missions.

Thanks, Vampko.

I have Agarest (downloaded from the psn store)...It took *FOREVER* to download & install that game.
I haven't started it yet, but, iirc, my version is in Japanese (so I'll have to get by w/ just reading the English sub-titles).
I was really surprised when I saw how many trophies there were for Agarest-other games that I've downloaded from the psn store(Vandal-Hearts, Costume-Quest, etc). usually only have a few trophies.

Yeah. I guess that you're right about the strategy-guide.
I just have to keep in mind what a big difference there can be between different nis games...
...Anything from like a Trinity-Universe (where a guide is obviousy unneccessary) to something more like a Disgaea game where a guide really *is* neccessary (especially if you want to understand all of the mechanics of the game).

Just to be clear, this isn't a NIS game, IF/Compile Heart made it. They also did Cross Edge and Trinity Universe. As well as Agarest. And Agarest was meant to be a retail game, Europe got the retail version, the US just got stuck with a DD only version. Agarest Zero will be retail though.

I kinda' get what you're saying, Vampko...

Some of my games that say "nis" on their covers (like Cross Edge & Trinity Universe) aren't technically "nis games"...but...what?
Are they just distributed, localized, or produced by nis (while not being developed by them)?

So...what games are actually and technically "Nis" games?

Because, now that I'm looking at a bunch of my other games, I'm noticing that the majority of my other games that say "nis" on them also say either "Namco/Bandai" or "Gust" as well.

I'm guessing you mean "NIS America"?
NISA (NIS America) is a company which brings over games from Japan and localizes them. They don't only do NIS Japan titles. The three they seem to do the most from would be NIS japan, GUST, and IF/Compile Heart. And they recently made a deal with Imageepoch, so they will start bringing over those games as well.

If you're looking at a box, you have to look carefully to spot the developer. The publisher (NISA in this case) is more likely to be prominently displayed. Sometimes the developer isn't even included.

Ar Tonelico was co-developed by GUST and Banpresto. If you look carefully, you can spot them on the back cover. But mostly, a quick Wikipedia search will reveal who developed any given game.

@ Vampko - Yes. I meant Nis(a)...I just left off the "a"...sorry about that :?

@ magusgs - Thanks for the clarification (and the pic) 8-)

So...in America...is NISA strictly a producer, or do they also develop games of their own?

So they're a publisher? Doesn't the disc tell you the companies too? like when you start it up~

My experience is that NISA usually just localizes the nippon ichi games to the americas. that may not be completely true but I haven't seen any games made by them since i got disgaea 1.

This is not true. NISA localizes / publishes games from several partners, including GUST, NIS, and Idea Factory.

So...if I'm understanding it correctly...Nisa 'made' the 1st Disgaea; but then licensed it & gave it to Atlus to publish...
Is that right?
If so...why?
Isn't publishing the games (here in America) kinda' their "thing"?
Just wondering-

No, Atlus localized the first Disgaea. NISA didn't exist then.

^ Who (which company) was Atlus localizing the game for?

Was it that Nippon Ichi existed (in Japan) - but they just hadn't started anything in America yet?

I'm pretty sure it was Nippon Ichi Japan that made the first disgaea game. Its been awhile, but I believe the first game published by NISA was Phantom Brave.
