Kira Kira, yes. Granted there are like 10x as many in Japanese than English but this is a start. Plus there are 3 other short V/Ns like Seed something or other.

Honestly, I don't know since I was logged into my Japanese iTunes account at the time and it didn't ask me to go to the US store to download them. I would log in and search "Kira Lite (Eng)" and "Seed of ...." (Sorry, forget the rest of the name, lol)

Sweet! Thanks Magus! I've so been wanting to play this. I guess nothing was stopping me when my PC was working, its just I didn't use it much. Now time to dust off my iPod touch...

Apparently VNs on iPhone are cheap as dirt too.

I should mention that the link is to a lengthy free trial. There's a link to the full version (for $10) on the side.

Visual novels would probably be pretty good to play on an iPad, I actually plan on getting a hold of one soon.

But a visual novel isn't a book. It's a game.

This is Kira Kira: http://vndb.org/v414

There's graphics, voice, and "decision points". The only similarity to a book is that the game is primarily text-based, with the other elements there mostly to create atmosphere (and provide a minimal level of interactivity).

Spoiler:
You and your sneaky trap-placement xD

Yeah, an e-reader wouldn't really suit most V/N's. Probably not any, purely because of the audio. An Ipad or something similar seems like a pretty good medium though.
