What Pringles said. If you look at my very first post you will be able to see the 4 versions of the Inori costume I've made. That should give you an idea on what I meant by Safe to NSFW. It's not listed in the first post because of it being NSFW, but it's there in the post for people who wants them.

I'm working on a new template file with a completely new base skin in illustrator. In some of my tests with the UV map (the updated one recently posted her) on her leg and chest there as still some things a little bit off on her leg.

After I take a little break and get some fresh air, I'm going to do rainbow striping down her entire mesh and adjust things so it all lines up before continuing. Thought you guys having trouble with the skin being all different colors might want to know about this.

(The Skin with the gridding over it is the old skin.)

Xerain, you have some nice skin tones going, it's going to be really hard to get them all to match.

The fix that I did for the UV Map is only the for the positioning of the grid itself for the Left Arm. The top of the first row of the boxes is lower than it should have been, this made it so that if you paint by following the old grid, you will have problems in that area when you upload it into the game. I simply extended it to where it should be.

The problem you are encountering right now is exactly what I meant by very poorly made template. The grid for every part of the body is not exactly 1:1 size, some parts are scaled larger than the other and left and right side are not exactly symmetrical. A simple straight line across the seams will not get you what you desire as the grids itself are quashed and stretched too. This also means that you will basically have to do tweaks for both sides instead of just tweaking one side and then duplicating it to the other side when done.

There is no way this can be fixed. To fix this, one will have to hack the game, rip the model out and then re-UV the model itself. Then, somehow reupload it into the game. Of course, even if this process can be done, it will break her weights, rig, animation and original textures. Unless you are going to go as far as fixing all those too, then recreating a better UV Map grid is possible.

I'm not setting out to create a new UV map or for any such perfection. However form some of the tests I've done I do believe I can get the skin to transition nicely (at present). I also intent to make note of such danger areas (I am already very familiar with a few of them) where things get stretched and crushed.

Basically, I'm striving to make a template more accessible to newbies so they don't have to go through these same pains we are.

@Ke-Y

If you're seriously considering taking requests, I formally request a skin for the Frost processor set :)

If you don't like the idea, it's fine if you deny this request.

Thanks in advance! :D

Here are the rainbow pants I spent all day working on!
(The two sides are tinted differently for testing purposes.)

Which allowed me to get the leg transitions almost seamless.

While there are still some odd shadows if you look hard enough, if I stopped now it'd probably still be considered a success. Still,I think I can improve them.

Her back is still kind of a mess. I'll spend more time on it once I finish her chest, which still has some odd shadows.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but the right and left thighs are labeled incorrectly in the template because when the guy was making the UV map it seems he mixed them up and dragged them to the wrong sides.

It is, depending on your browser, or it might just be the site, you'll have to open it in a new tab.

Ah, gotcha. That's very nice of you.

It's looking really good nevertheless, keep it up! After all the things you have been through, I'm sure no one will say anything. I didn't notice the incorrect labels lol, guess I was too into fixing the seams to notice that.

He knows what he is doing and these are just tests anyway, the final output will be in 2048 x 2048 to match the original template. This allows creators to create higher quality costumes and then shrinking it down to 1024 to minimize quality loss and to be used ingame.

I'm fine with doing a costume for the Frost Set, in fact I plan on doing a costume for each processor set, but no promises and I'm only in ch.3 of the game, haven't purchased the Pirate Set yet too.

But what I am wondering is that do you have any preferences on the costume like say so and so's costume from this anime or that game or you want me to decide for myself, either original creation or based on something like my Inori costume?

Also, I somehow caught a high fever so it may take awhile before I can start working on it.

@Xerain: I'm sure your updated template will be of great help. I'll make sure to include it in the opening post once you finish it.

@Ke-Y: It sucks to be sick; I hope you recover quickly. I have a request for you, but I'll wait until you finish the Ice costume before I give voice to mine.

I plan on re-vamping the opening post this weekend with a FAQ, and a Tips section. I might even get around to making a video of the Part 2 costumes.

Do you think you could make a skin for the Delphinus unit?

This.

If someone else can't get to it I might consider it after I finish the 3 or 4 things already in queue.

Be posting another update soon once I clean this up a bit.
