Anyone know if there is a level cap in this game, DLC-locked or not?

Level cap is 99, there's no DLC which increases it.

I know you're kidding but that outfit she wears is god awful.
As for her personality, I think you can pretty much predict her every move after 20 seconds of meeting her. The whole "For justice" thing is way beyond overdone, it's all she talks about, and she's always shouting. Plus she's all like "I'm the hero follow me" when she's surrounded by her world's GODDESSES?! talk about arrogant.

nthxbai, she's a shallow (character depth wise) dork.

i find those types of characters more of a comic relief type rather than an annoying character

Neptunia, as a franchise.. doesn't really need a comic relief character....Even if it did, Neptune does that best anyway.

point taken, though nisa is a character based off nisa (or more precisely, based off prinnies) and what is the name of the first game that features the main character as a prinny? Prinny: Can I Really Be A Hero? im guessing they are basing her attitude on that part of the title(HERO) As we all know, most heroes in anime act rash, or is a bit unheroic as first. but yeah, I havent really gotten that far in the game yet, and i havent finished that far in the first game yet either, so im not too sure about nisa's attitude, but i do know the bare minimum of how she acts. (too much things happened and i really couldnt finish ANY of my games.... i have over 50 games in my incomplete list right now that im STILL trying to finish....)

On a side note, is it really natural for some of the game's scenes to... well, is it natural to see it lag a bit? (by that i mean its like playing a game on a 5 year old computer. its not that it lags so much that it stops the screen and then your in a different place. its more of a you can see the frames moving. like, in battle it seems like the frames are rushed. is that normal or is it due to my ps3 being the new slim 120gb that actually seems worse than the fat versions?)

I get choptastic frames on my "fat" ps3 too (got one of the newer ones that cant emulate ps2s, and need software to emulate ps1s), but it typically fixes itself after 1 battle.

Something that just occured to me about neptunia... Neptunia is like nisa's game more than any other companies' in a sense. I mean, idea factory, gust, compile heart, NIS, etc... Nisa works with all of them during their localizations... This game has more in common with NISA than NIS, or If, or compile heart, etc.

I assume it is the HDD of that console. Some hunch tells me that the game caches data on the HDD while you play, thus the load times are slow to boot, but tremendously speed up later as you play (either that, or some other programmer magic I am gracious for)...

I wouldn't have that much knowledge anymore on HDDs since I switched my PS3 over to an SSD, whereas load times are non-existent. 8-)

NISA is one of my favourite characters. Love the outfit, and the whole FOR JUSTICE! thing just totally fits with the vibe of NIS games. She reminds me of Flonne in Trinity Universe, in that manner. And they just released her for Disgaea 4! Whee!

I know I made this post before recently but I can't find it and I think it didn't submit or something.

But anyway the other day I was musing to myself how much Neptunia is NISA's game (the company not the character). I mean I know IF developed it, and someone else owns it, yada yada. But Neptunia has more in common with NISA than IF, or compile heart, or whatever.

I mean maybe I'm just ignorant, but I don't think Idea factory really has anything to do with NIS, or gust, or whatever. NISA on the other hand, frequently localizes gust games, IF games, compile heart games (on the ps3 I mean), NIS games. None of the involved companies have the relationship with each other quite like NISA does with all of them (cept Cave and 5pb I guess). Anybody else notice this? Care? I just think it's kinda interesting.

i Find it interesting... i also find the fact that NISA stands for nis america and that the character Nisa was put into a japanese game which probably didnt even know NISA would be localizing it this time around until they asked for it. that make sense or am i spouting stuff you dont understand?

I don't know. I always got the impression that a lot of the people in Japan in the video game industry know each other a bit more. I mean look at the way companies over there cross promote each other by doing the cameo thing to death. I remember in one interview I believe with the NIS developer when he was asked about including some cameos like Holo for Disgaea 4 he merely quiped that he called the person and proposed using the character in the game since he knew them. Over there it seems like people don't mind sharing their IP in other products as long as they respect it and ask permission. Over here look at how much red tape we have to go through to get some characters in some games because of legal reasons. Our legal and intellecutual systems working in ways we don't like.

Well thats due in part to the fact that over in Japan game companies are for more diverse and also share a lot of input on certain things as well as group projects are not all that uncommon to do.

As for cameo's over their a lot of it is in part marketing. Disgaea is a big series so adding in your character from X anime series is good publicity for that series as well as indirectly the company as well as chancing that new people will go look into what those characters are if they dont already know them and then in turn start watching or buying whatever series they're from. That or add that little extra thing for people like me who already knew who all the characters were and just thought "wait is that? ..... omg it is! thats awesome!" or if someone isnt a fan of Disgaea then they see X character in the game it adds some incentive to go play it.

Comparatively here in NA their are actually very few real developers so as such they dont like the idea of working together and especially not sharing their ideas with others. Add onto this certain things like licensing issues with anime characters and things then in turn get really complicated because we have so many studios here that all have different characters and licenses and franchises that it becomes a nightmare to try and use any if not quite a few not too mention if you have only 1 character per studio/company etc. and then that happens for 20 studios then things get really complicated from there. Not too mention when the studios are in say Canada and the US and then some are in different provinces/states from one another etc. it can get really complicated.

Not too mention when someone gets a franchise that they want the sole rights to and dont let anyone else have more out of spite than anything similar to what 4Kids/Fox did back with Dragonball when it was first brought to the US ages ago. They simply held the rights till it expired even though their were quite a few people that wanted to buy it from them to then use it but they simply didnt want them too "just in case" they decided they then wanted to use it again later in the future sort of thing. That again can make things very difficult.
