I'm new to this series, so I'm not quite sure how the fanbase goes.

Yes. It's a Galge game, and it's aimed at males. That's not to say that females don't play the game.

Are we only taking into account the people who post on internet? Because I have the feeling that if we go outside internet we'll find out a lot more of girls playing it than we expect... especially considering how many games these days are too macho oriented, or when they're aimed at girls they just play the stereotypes in the most extreme way possible.

No, I am not. The developers themselves stated it was a galge game. And galge games are targeted towards a male audience. Did I not state that females still play the game regardless?

I don't recall them ever stating it was a 'galge' game.

Yeah, considering the director was a woman, I really doubt the game was targeted exclusively towards males... or at least the way she did it. Though I suppose you could argue the few otaku bait things (though that's mostly the merchandise) are indeed targeted towards males.

And like I said, even then, with the current situation of gaming, I'd say that women are more likely to find this game easier to relate with than many other games out there... at least once they can get past that initial scene with Compa and Neptune (though even in that case the context saves it).

Considering my mental status, I'd say that it IS geared in such a way that females would find it more interesting. they just have to get past the marketing.

Huh, what is your mental status o_O

But yeah, I guess I should be worried that I never thought anything weird about the cast being all girls. It actually felt natural to me... Doesn't help that whenever I make a character for a game it's usually female. Guess I really don't like guys x.x;

How did you get Inafune-san to join the game as a cameo in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2?

You know the video game industry in Japan is a small world. Every time we go to a licensing meeting, we see a lot of creators. We just had a friendly conversation and he wanted to know more about the galge genre in Japan. He was really interested in what we’ve done so far with the Agarest series and first Neptunia. It’s thought to be like a friendship and I think we can do more in the future if this is successful.

Yes, and? He took part in developing the game, did he not? Also, IF is talking, and after mentioning the 'galge genre' they brought up both Agarest and Neptunia.

Either way, the wording suggest galge was referring to Agarest.

Either of us could be right. Nonetheless, I'm fairly certain an interview with them that was done later on stated that Neptune was meant to appeal to girls as well.

I thought she meant that Inafune associated Agarest and Neptunia with the genre.
