A few gameplay + DLC questions

Postby LAMV » Tue Mar 06, 2012 8:33 am

I finally got the game! Sweet. But I haven't played it yet. I know there are a few general threads about, but I don't want to run the risk of getting spoiled just to ask some simple questions so I'll make my own thread right here. Some of these questions have been asked before, I'm just seeking double-confirmation.

1. When will Cave and Falcom DLC be released? Has NISA put up a DLC schedule of any sort? I don't want to start on the game until they're available.

2. There is a free DLC that adds a bunch of skills for the CPUs. When it's downloaded, are those skills immediately available to them or do they still have to learn those skills from leveling? If it's the latter, then that's fine. it's the former, perhaps it is better NOT to download the skill pack in order to avoid overpowering the CPUs early in the game?

3. Are there endings that can only be gotten from low Lily Ranks, like a bad end or something because everyone hates you? And, are there endings that can only be gotten if a specific pairing's Lily Rank is highest among all other pairs? I hear that Lily Ranks carry over between playthroughs, so I want to know if I'd get forever locked out of endings because of certain characters' Lily Ranks being too high.

4. What chapter is the route split? I hear it's 4 or 5. If you get pass the chapter, you can't change the route anymore? Does the game actually tell you the name of the route?

Congrats on getting the game first. Now for your questions.

1. It was roughly 2 months for the JP version, so I'm guessing it'll be same for us as well. as far as I know NISA hasn't put up a schedule so far.

2. My guess is they are level based, in the JP version I used a save where my team was maxed out already, so I had access to all of the skills.

3. There is no ending which requires a low lily rank, so you don't have to worry about that. Having a certain lily rank is a requirement for a few endings, but it's not the only one. For example even if you raise all the girls to their max lily rank in your first playthrough you can still get all the endings.

4. For 2 endings you have to meet the requirements by the end of chapter 5, for the other 6 you can do everything in the last chapter.

Just thought I'd add a few words that will no doubt bring tears of joy to our fellow gamers still awaiting their copy of the game. While reading the instruction manual, the section describing "shares" now show them as actual numerical percentages on the World screen! No more freaking post-it notes on the tv screen! :D

Better than that, the quests tell you which share will go up, and which down, by how much. That and making them move around is WAY faster in general.

Thanks for the responses! I got another Q:

Does everyone gain experience even when they're not fighting? Or do only the four fighting characters gain EXP?

Once someone joined your party, they will get the EXP regardless of anything. Unlike in the first game, all 4 characters in the front line, the 4 on the rear, and even the ones on the reserve list are getting the EXP. Even if they're knocked out in a battle, you don't need to revive them.

The skills from the skill DLC are activated after you complete chapter three. You will see an event on Planeptune, and it will give a bunch of dialogue boxes telling you the skills that have been learned. There's no characters or voicing, it just unlocks the moves. Lol

If you are late in game, you'll just do the same, go to Planeptune, same as if you just finish chapter three; or are close to doing so-- it's in that time frame. Activate the event; it's a world map event so you'll notice it.

Unless the skills are in game in NISA's version, which I honestly wouldn't doubt. *shrug*

HELL YES! This is great news! Thank you for telling me!

EDIT: Also, this motivates me even more to wait until Cave and Falcom DLC are available before I play.

I maxed their levels in little under 3 hours after getting them, those four DLC dungeons are a grinders best friend.

Oh damn. This makes me want to make a new account just to play the game over once the skills are released. I just can't wait! Also, I really want Cave and Falcom, but I'm afraid that I'll just eventually replace them. Anyone know who out of the two is better and if they are any good at all? Maybe Mizu can help me since... you know, japanese import.

I can't say I've tried either myself, but most people seem to agree that cave is good or decent. I haven't seen a single person say falcom is anything other than "bad" though.

It's simply because her stats aren't as good as Cave's. Consindering her fighting style her HP and Atk ar crappy.

Yeah i didn really think there was no reason or anything. I also heard that ALL her attacks only deal 1 hit, making sp generation a bish (also making hit/miss mechanics more infuriating too i imagine)

Yeah, I think she has one Multi-Hit skill which has 9 Hits and her ulti has 12 but that's it. While Cave has multiple with 15-20.

Which makes sense, given that Cave is the queen of Bullet Hell shooters.
