If you have a computer, you can watch any region of a DVD. I was just wondering if you knew that? Although, I can't answer your original question.

I do too. But using your PC is always a viable option in these matters.

No the PS3 is region locked (Sony loves DRM crap).

As for the DVDs, since both Toradora and Our Home's Fox Deity are both locked to region 1 I expect this one will be the same.

As others have said you can bypass region code on a computer without much effort. You can also buy a POS Chinese no name region free DVD player for $20-$25. And hacks are available for a lot of name brand DVD players.

Correct (on the first part, at least). The PS3 is region locked for anything that isn't a PS3 game. This includes PS1 games, PS2 games, DVDs, and blu-rays. I guess CDs are technically region free, but who plays CDs on their PS3?

i've ripped tons of CDs to my PS3.

and i know Blu-Rays are technically region-specific, but like 90% of Blu-Ray movies aren't region-locked. i've imported movies from Europe and Japan with no playback problems (Japan is actually same region as US, but Europe isn't)

didn't know DVDs were region-locked on PS3, though. that's lame.
