The ending was unintentionally hilarious now that I think of it

Spoiler:
BRS saying that she fights because she loves Mato and wants to carry her suffering when a few minutes before she gives her a merciless beating leaving her in a bloody mess and with nearly all of her bones broken

Sometimes you need to be tough with your love ;)

She was just

trying to show Mato why they took on what they did, and what it meant to take on that pain. Basically helping Mato to understand that she couldn't be so wishy-washy anymore.

So I saw the OVA

AAAAAND

The anime was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!

I give the OVA a 6/10. It had good moments, but there was never really much to get into. And the ending just...yeah ....pretty much a repeat cycle.

Glad that it got people interested enough for the anime to be born, but really not sure how it achieved that.

I remeber the OVA as been better than the Anime expect for Last Episode

Well, teh OVA didn' really get into any characters. By the end, I really knew next to nothing about everyone. With the anime, i was pretty darn knowledgeable about Mato and Yumi, as well as Crazy girl, and the friend girl, and even some about The manager girl. I also learned a fair amount about the counselor. There was also a lot more conflict, and there was much more resolution at the end. And explanation of just what BRS/Strength/Dead Master were. Heck, they didn't even give the names of anyone but BRS.

And I've seen 2 episode/55 minute long anime actually feel like they had more substance before.

That's ALL opinion though. What I can say objectively, is that the animation quality was much better in the anime.

Yeah the OVA was good, but not TV series good. As mentioned, I too, am glad that it formed a gateway into the show. It sure had some great development in those 8 episodes!

I finished this yesterday.
I thought it was very interesting.
My favorite characters were Kagari and Yomi. I felt like Yomi was almost pushed to the side at the end for other parts of the plot.

Got it from a site called AmiAmi, the price was a premium; but I was already being pulled in. Then GSC/Aniplex announced the figma Insane BRS figure was gonna be packed in, and my fate was sealed...

I see the Halo 3 Figmas in the back XD Lucky though, what was the price exactly? If the BD series seriously does come with english subtitles I think we need to nullify the chances of a american release XD

Paid a sum of 24,930 Yen for the BD boxset, which converts to about $315 CAD(though factor in EMS shipping, Canadian Customs fees, and the horrid currency exchange rate the total I paid is $405 almost). I still think there's a chance for a NA release from Aniplex USA(just can't see Aniplex JP letting it go to another licensor...), that while it might result in a complete boxset costing $150+; there's a decent chance of the figma being included in a NA LE DVD box.

Wow, nice new villain. I wonder when this makes the inevitable leap to Blu-ray if it will have multiple subs on it like the OVA did.

It was released in a box set back in June. No idea if it has multiple sub tracks.
Waiting on the other mk2 avatars.
