MAFIAThis is my first time hosting a mafia game, and we don't have many active members on this board, so please be patient with everything. If you have no clue what mafia is check out the mafia wiki I'll also be glad to answer any questions
There are only two phases in mafia - day and night. During the night, all special ranks may use their powers. During the day, all players vote on whoever they want to kill and remove from the game. Rinse and repeat until one faction remains.
introduction by Thorhammer.
Say the game starts with 20 players. Around 5 of those players are in the mafia, while the other 15 are citizens. At the beginning of the game, the mafia members choose a citizen to kill. Afterwards, it's the "day phase", and the remaining players try to figure out who the mafia are. They do that by looking at clues provided in various ways by the GM and by the actions of the players themselves. Each player then casts a vote on a member they think is in the mafia. At the end of the day phase, whoever has the most votes is killed, and the players find out whether or not the player killed was really in the mafia. The day phase typically ends when a majority is reached for one player; in this example, 19 players would be alive at the time, so 10 votes would be a majority. Afterwards, the game shifts to the "night phase" and the mafia choose someone else to kill. The game continues until either the mafia are all killed, in which case the citizens win, or the mafia outnumber the citizens, in which case the mafia wins.
That's the basic gist of it, but there's usually a bit more to it than that. For example, almost all games have a Detective, who is a citizen with the ability to find out the role of one other player each night phase. There are also sometimes "3rd party" roles that act independently from either the citizens or the mafia, trying to win their own way, but they'll be explained as they become relevant. Or not, if they're secret, but in that case, you don't have to worry about them anyway.
Rules
1)if I make a mistake with vote count, or anything, speak up and I'll correct it.
2)Role revealing is allowed.
3)Do not print screen your proof
4)Don't go quoting your information you get from me either unless it's a question addressed to everyone. (Like say its over a rule.)
5)Revealing exact quotes with PMs from anyone will get you godkilled. You may paraphrase or talk to me if you can quote it.
6)Almost all phases should last at most 48 hours.
7)If there is a tie I will use a random generator to determine the outcome
8)If there is no majority vote reached during the day, then the player with the highest vote count is lynched.
9)when you make votes do a Vote: xxx or Unvote: xxx
10)When you are dead don't contribute to the game. You may comment/complain, but you're dead. You can't help.
11)If you are a mafia, do not claim your partners to anyone. Fake or not.
12)No PMs allowed aside from the ones that I set up
13)Those who didn’t sign up to the game. You cannot post to help out any faction, got it?
14)All in all, use common sense. If something feels like it could break the game (quoting something you get) don't do it and/or run it by me.
15)If for any reason I have to godkill a player for breaking the rules (revealing something you shouldn't etc.) the godkill will not change/ change the phase to one that most damages that person's faction.
Scenario: The year is 2011, and the influx of stellar games and anime throughout the year has become too awesome for the magical barriers of NISA. The barriers explode allowing the multitude of characters NISA possesses to co-mingle. They form the Union of NISA. Life is great for a brief period without the restrictions place upon them by their respective worlds. Unfortunately the Union's supply of sweets becomes dangerously low. The more villainous and secretive characters form the "No Candy for You" mafia. They plan to gain control of the flow of sweets throughout the nation, and every member secretly plans to make off with all of the sweets. It's up to the non-villainous NISA characters (The Orderly) to prevent the "No Candy for You" mafia from exacting their plans, and to make sure everyone gets their fair share of sweets. Can The Orderly succeed? It's The Orderly vs The "No Candy for You"(NCFY) Mafia.
Important recent changes:
4)When the deadline hits whoever has the most votes gets lynched.
5)There is an investigation before the lynch Day 2
