Mine was up to 20 at one point but then i wasted that damn money for no one to use it so now i have it so i can chat with my second in command of my guild. egh at least it helps us be on the same level with stuff.... and he can put me in my place when i need it b/c im a mean GM.

I'm personally not a fan of voice chat, for various reasons. But I'd be willing to join in on a chat that didn't rely on voice.

I'm pretty sure vent supports text as well (even text-to-voice if you want to sound like a bot).

I remember trying to type on Vent before, and noting the interface was terrible for it. People wouldn't even notice you're typing unless they were looking for it.

Ventrilo doesn't support text to speech for interpreting voice chat. Both Teamspeak and Ventrilo have inline chat. Teamspeak has channel specific chat, while Ventrilo has global only chat. Both have notifications for chat input, but its up to the user to enable it. Neither will read your text to you. However, Ventrilo will allow you to bind a key to a pre-specified string for it to read for you.

So... someone mentioned that they have a Ventrilo server that we can all pile into. How do we obtain access details? I've got the Teamspeak server up. Anyone can connect at any time. PM for details (I don't want server credentials where a bot can find it), and you can invite anyone you want.

If you want TTS you have people on ventrilo join the ventrilo chat on the right hand side and check text to speech (TTS).
Anything that is typed will be read by the voice. That is exactly what is being mentioned. It does not get any closer to that.

Awesome, that checkbox didn't seem to function in v2. So... when do we pile into a server? We've got someone who says they have a server, but no access details offered, someone who has another solution with access details offered, and a whole lot of "what do we dooooo."

You guys can join my Ventrilo server for now if you like. It's 8 people, yet the population has never been over 5 yet.

I stated the information and how on the first page.

Once it seems like people actually use it and it reaches capacity I'd be happy to rent a 20 person server for everyone (I doubt we'd need a 50) and give who ever is the most frequent the admin privileges to maintain order
