NISA School for the Magical Artes (11/24 Tuesday)

If it becomes seriously needed, then I will probably make it. But, I really think we'll be fine without one. I'd just like everyone to give it a test run. If you recall, the NISA saga didn't get an info topic until things started getting serious.

Well I'm hoping that this'll be more serious than NISA Saga initially was, because that was really wacky and spur-of-the-moment. It's not a good tone if you want to have actual characters and believable interactions. This one is definitely going to be more lighthearted but it still needs structure.

Oh, it won't be THAT unstructured. But, I am just saying that it is possible to run an RP well without having these things that people feel is needed.

I just want to experiment with this. You may find it to work well for this sorta situation. Surprise is the best spice of life ~

It had an ephemeral existence, but we know it was there. It did make mention of a chain whip. That's pretty unforgettable, not to mention hardcore.

Oh yeah, I deleted it because I forgot I was supposed to PM it it too vamp instead. Blame it on me being far too engrossed with HDN right now. *shrug*

And yes a chain whip, I am kind of unoriginal in that respect because just a reference to Fatima from Luminous Arc 2. Ice, Chainwhip... yeah. xD

This one might be a bit easier to get into, since it's just starting. There isn't tons and tons of backstory to read.

“Welcome to the NISA School for the Magical Artes! We are the most prestigious and advanced school in the realm of harnessing mana. We may have only been around for a hundred years time, but our staff is of the most excellent and highly sophisticated caliber. As are our students. You have all been through a rigorous exam to determine whether you could be placed in here…” A plump and regally dressed man in his late 40’s early 50’s spoke as he stood at a podium.

The man that was speaking, was the headmaster of the school. And this was the entrance speech for the new term. The order of seating, went from closest to graduation (front), to newest students (back). The teachers were all sitting against the walls, or standing if they so preferred.

“Suuuure...that ‘rigourous exam’ being that silly little application we filled out? And, ‘Sophisticated’? Give me a break!” A young girl with purple hair and cat-like features snickered as she looked amusingly at the display.

“…With this new batch of honored students, we can now begin our new term with confidence and enthusiasm, and push towards a brighter future for everyone!” The headmaster concluded, letting out a sigh.

The majority of the people in the large crowd clapped their hands vigorously and gave cheers.

Holly swept her eyes around the large hall. She sat at the rear of the horde of students and there were exactly five exits that would be easiest to use from this position. Of course, she could always create more as the need arose, but it didn't seem like it would. She studied her neighbors, one of them giving her pause.

Cat's ears? Interesting. She filed this information away for future use. The girl who'd caught her attention was being rather loud. Smiling to herself, Holly settled down to listen.

As the headmaster blathered on, Bernard was entertaining himself by reading in the back row. He'd heard enough of these speeches. They were all the same. By this point, he could probably do one of his own, which was not surprising as he had been bouncing around these schools since he was 10.

This does end at some point, right? Heloise won't be happy if she's kept waiting and judging by the look of things, no one really wants to be here. Maybe someone will pull the fire alarm and we can just leave.

Bernard returned to his book. It was far more enlightening than anything the headmaster was saying.

The girl with the ears had fallen silent for now, so Holly let her attention wander. There was an impeccably-dressed student seated to her right. Evidently he had chosen to ignore the speech in favour of a book. Holly peered furtively at the title but couldn't make it out. Annoyed, she studied its reader instead, who seemed to be completely oblivious to his surroundings.

Froggie, I'd wager, and rich besides she mused.

Can't be sure yet, though. I'll have to find out more later.

Gosh...this is boring! I thought mom's adventures were more interesting than this? Oh well, time to stir up something...

Rin pointed her finger towards the headmaster, muttered something, and suddenly the headmaster's hair had been consumed by a fiery presence!

"Hahahahahaha! Oh that's the best!" Rin was now rolling on the floor laughing.

Holly watched impassively as the headmaster desperately tried to put out his hair. Her gaze slid to the girl rolling on the floor.

Well well, firefly. Looks like you're going to be trouble.

Bernard's reading of Doctor Zhivago was interrupted by the rather unexpected immolation of the headmaster's hair. This is supposed to be an elite academy, right? I guess some people don't take their studies as seriously as they should. And still this ceremony continues. I must do something.

Bernard stood up. "Mon dieu, this is pathetic. Does anyone want to be here? We should be studying, not sitting and hearing about how great we are. How long were you planning to pointlessly pump up our self-esteem, anyway? This is as pointless as scheduling a tour of cubicles for a full hour of an executive's office visit. I have better things to do. Anyone who wishes to actually study can come with me."

Clearly annoyed and not really caring if anyone followed his lead, the Frenchman walked out of the ceremony and over to a nearby car against which a rather bored looking woman who looked to be about 20 years old and dressed like a maid was leaning. Looking at the woman, Bernard said "Come Heloise. We're going to my living quarters. I want to start studying. I don't need any of this ceremonial garbage."

I realize this is planning to an extent, but Bernard will likely be playing the straight man for the comedy bits, so keep that in mind. He will also likely make Dennis Miller-esque references.
