Yeas, I used something rather similar but my overall goal was different. I didn't say I shouldn't be voted because I'm town but rather that I won't defend myself because I believe that if anything, it is better to lynch a vanilla which can't help much, rather than someone important. I hoped that people will vote for more suspicious players, however I was more than ready to be lynched for the sake of the town. This doesn't seem to be your case as you just want people to not vote you because you claim you are town. I just mentioned the similarity in order to claim that such strategies won't really help.
I don't think that claiming a role would be helpful for me. Beyond that, the strategy you described is exactly the same as what I am doing, except that I'm being objective about it.

Yes, that's definitely pro-town as long as you:
1) Really sure he is town and convince other players he is. I didn't see you putting much effort into that.
2) Try to nominate a better candidate, as lynch cannot be avoided, and convince people why that candidate is better. Hardly really seen you doing this as well
-I am sure that I'm town.
-I have nominated other candidates.
Now, you're starting to sound like mafia.

I'm not accusing anyone. I'm just saying that your playing style feels like SK or scum and that's why IMO it's a good idea to corner you a little and see whatever something happens
I've already said that I can't be stressed that way. You can piss me off, but you can't put pressure on me. That makes your actions rash, like I said.

Then maybe you'll be convinced to vote Claymore-san if I'm lynched.
