Due to quite major inactivity I spot recently in Mafia, it makes me question whatever right now is a busy period for many people? I know July should be more free to those who study (right...?), but what about June?
Depending on the answer I might consider postponing my turn until July.
After Wednesday, I'm on Summer Quarter, which I took off. So I'm going to be quite free for a while from now. And, Yuru Yuri season 2 starts in July, so you probably want ot get the game finished before then! Just because I'll probably be fangasming over it and not paying as much attention xD
I'll of course run a game if my game is going then properly.
Some people are busy as fuck and others are probably burned out...especially when a new game starts up directly after another one ends, sometimes even before the last game is over
I know I usually lurk b/c I can't find the energy or interest to read through page after freakin' page of in-thread comments when I've been absent for a day or two....or more....I'm like "WTF?!?! 30 wall of text pages of (mostly) bs?!?! Really?!?!?)

In theory, the right way to read a Mafia game is to focus on what's important while merely skimming the rest at most. But sure, easier said than done and debatable.
So I am trying out varying styles for my scenes in my next game, as well as writing in general. In particular, I wanted to get feedback on what people think of this new type of style, really.
Mizu blocked the Mafia's action, while the serial killer targeted her. In this instance, the Mafia targeted the Serial Killer, and a special effect kicked in. This allowed for Mafia to still go after their target, because of *insert reasoning here that I can't reveal*.
Mizu's use of the crystal is due to a mechanic her role has, and acts as a one-shot NK ability, when she infuses it with her blade.
However, she sustained an injury from using it, due to another effect-- risk and reward it seems. When all is said and done the night would end with Mizu still being alive-- but 'something' would take effect. While the Sk would still be alive because of another .
Effectively making there be no night kill, as both would have failed, with Mizu being caught in the middle.
The bottom of the post would say:
"Someone sustained a debilitating injury!! The mysterious assailant faded away, leaving behind a lifeless doll in their place!"
For the record, this is merely just scene writing-- and general writing practice. So this exact situation is not going to be in my game, I'm a hella lot more creative than that when actually working on my setup.
It was also based on the most outlandish chain of events I could come up with, multiple powers and effects from each party were at work here, and that's not actually guaranteed in game. So I was just having a bit of fun ~
More or less, I just wanted to see how people would respond to this kind of story telling in a scene-- granted it's less than there was in my first game, but I still feel I need to tone it down a bit before it comes time for my second game =3=
Granted, all that MIGHT be hard, since the entirety of my game focuses on my own characters, story, and setting... Then again, that will likely be easy, since who knows my characters better than me? xD
Edit: Another thing worthy of note!
Mizu's name was used for stylization, and for easy identification between the characters-- scenes would not feature role names.
Just thought I'd clear that up before any asked ~

Current game isn't over yet, I doubt many will join until that one is done. It's happened before, so I wouldn't be surprised.

We could just take the short hiatus before my game. Maybe we should try advertising maf in the Nep threads?

If you're implying being tired from mafia - then I don't really think it's the thing. In practice, those who die early get their "rest" until next game begins. Which is quite a long rest. Those who survive until the end get less, but at the same time they also should be more motivated to play due to "lol I winz I lovez dis".

Someone should just host a Nep mafia
A few people didn't like my inclusion of Neptune in my game, so why would they like an entire mafia game based off her franchise? I mean it MIGHT draw more Neptuniaddicts; my word for Nep fans such as myself, to play-- but what of it afterwards?
I don't foresee them sticking around unless they REALLY enjoyed Mafia...

That's silly to get mad about the characters in a game. XD
I had a few say it was pointless to include her, not like I really care what they think. But yeah.
