He was furious. EO literally shattered the courage he was building up.

Mizu: "Fuck you, k'? Don't give a damn about anything anymore!"
EO: Just as planned

Ignited, Mizu quickly turned toward Ubi and aggressively forced a handshake.
As he began to dissolve into pure data, he closed his eyes and smiled.

Mizu: "Thanks, EO."
EO: "Heh, so you knew."
Mizu: "But of course. Because I know you better than anyone~"
EO knew Mizu will be ignited by the push. While angry, he'll forget all his worries about being sacrificed, and will simply perform the act without much thinking.

EO: "Fair enough."
He smiled back.

Mizu: "Well, bet you'll be coming there sooner or later yourself so... catch you on the other side bro."

He was lost for words. After a few seconds of fruitless brainstorming, he merely closed his eyes, turned around and-

After a few seconds, he dimply opened one eye in order to check Shizuka's reaction.

Out of ideas, Pringles admitted defeat and flew back to the group hovering in the sky.

"Blinded by own inner desires, one cannot possibly perceive one's environment properly. Shizuka can't sense any of his deceased friends. And none of the human communication methods will resonate with him."
Vampko: "Then what do we do...?"
He couldn't bear it anymore. He didn't like fighting, and above all he didn't like seeing his friends fighting each other. As an ex-Leader, the whole conflict just reminded him anew how he couldn't protect his friends from death. Yet again, after finally making amends even with the dead, friendship must be torn asunder.

"Strip the shadow. Though it's said that once you give up on your shadow, you give up on yourself."
Ubi: "In other words... Eradicating Shizuka is the sole available path toward his salvation?"
"Indeed."
Vampko: "Why...? WHY?! Why must everything with demons end in death!?"
A single tear flowed from his left eye.

Lopez: "As much as I want to believe the guy's lying I just... can't. This is just so messed up... Who? Who the hell chose this fate for us!? Why must we suffer!?"

He was saying that with all seriousness, while pointing toward the sky.

He attempted to figure out the meaning of that line. A few possible theories formed in his head, yet none felt feasible enough at that point.

As Belial clicked his fingers, dark shadows were shot by Shizuka in all directions.
The trio was fast to react, with each jumping to a different direction in order to evade.
However, escaping unharmed was beyond impossible. Each of them sustained decent damage. As the attack stopped, they each wanted to confirm each other's conditions. But before they had the chance to-


everything was covered in black.

"Taste the infinite despair which comes along with complete uncertainty."

Lopez: "Guys? Can you hear-"
"WAAAAAH!!!"
Lopez: "Vampko, was that you-"
"GAHHH!"
Lopez: "U-Ubi...?"
Fear began to build inside him. He was slowly stepping backwards, looking at all directions in panic.

"When fear pierces into your heart, that is the time to depart."
The voice came from behind.
He turned around-

Belial's pitchform went through him. Light suddenly returned.

Vampko: "Lopez!!!"
He couldn't believe his eyes.

He began to run to help him. But was halted.

Lopez: "DON'T. Just... don't..."
Vampko: "...What?"
Lopez: "It is... already...too late for me..."
His mind was dizzy. As the final struggle, he laid his eyes on the enemy in front of him - Belial.

Lopez: "Funny... When I look at you this close... I can see it.. We... should have scanned you... Because... You actually have... A wea-"
The fork was pulled out just as he was about to finish the vital sentence. To it, was attached a shiny ball. Belial took it and

consumed it.

"Now he won't be able to speak anymore."


Lopez (Omoikane) was devoured by Belial on the Final Turn


Vampko: "No... Lopez... No..."
Ubi: "You... deserve a thousand death Lopez... for constantly leaving the stage before revealing the most... vital... information..."

-COLLAPSE-

He turned around. Tears were now literally bursting from his eyes.

Ubi: "Seems as if... End has been reached for my program..."
Vampko: "No... NOOOO!"
He dashed in order to support Ubi.

Vampko: "You can't leave now! I'm... I'm not qualified for this thing!"


Ubi: "I'll be watching you... from above..."
He went with his hand over Vampko's face, wiping tears.

Vampko: "I... I don't want to stay alone! Why me!? Why must it always be me!?"
Ubi: "Just... remember. We all live only once. That's why... you gotta do your best during the time you are given..."
He closed his eyes...

Vampko: "No... Please... No... NOOOOOO! Please don't leave me here alone!!!"

Tears were flowing from his eyes right on Ubi's face, like a salty rain.
He didn't lift his grasp.
He still had hope. Hope that at least Ubi will come back.



Vampko: "Huh...?"
He felt a gentle hand wiping tears dry.

Ubi: "It seems like your determination to keep your friends alive allowed me to stay in existence. Fine, let us do this once again."


Vampko: "Ubi you idiot! Don't leave me alone like that!"
Ubi: "Yeah, yeah I heard you alright."
His eyes then met Belial's.

"Still believe you can win this?"
Ubi didn't answer immediately.
He closed his eyes.
Smiled.

Ubi: "In the infinite sea of uncertainty, friends can show you the way to light. Whoever fights alone - dies alone. Such will be your fate."
