Having the feeling he should save the message for later, Neku stuffs it into a pocket. He turns to look at the spot where Shiki had vanished.
That couldn't have actually happened... could it? And.. and..
she was innocent.Feeling desperate all of a sudden, he turns to a pink-haired woman nearby.
"Hey, what exactly happened to that girl? What happens if someone's voted out?""They're erased. Gone." She snaps her fingers.
"Another speck of spacial dust in Shibuya.""What?! Isn't there... a way to come back or something? I mean, that's just.." He trails off and turns to look at the spot again, then back but the woman's already walking away from him.
"Having regrets are we?"
He spins around once more; the boy who'd talked to them earlier was back.
"Well... that girl, I.. I said some stuff I shouldn't have before she disappeared. And.. she seemed so frightened. The thought that that was the last thing she'll ever see.. it's just.." 
It makes me feel like shit, honestly. But why am I even talking to this guy? Maybe because none of this feels real, this messed up game just cannot be happening."Oh well, there's nothing you could have done about it. The next day will come swiftly enough, and yet another person will have to leave.""It's just.. this isn't right. "And I suppose I should ask for the sake of convenience. Do you have a name?"Something about this kid just.. grates."Neku.""All right then, Neku, nice to meet you and see you tomorrow." With that, the boy smiles and walks away, giving a small wave.
She shouldn't have had to die like that. I bet it was the reapers who voted for her. Neku scans around the crowd for the people who'd voted for Shiki and sees one of the girls who had walking towards the scramble crossing area.
Maybe someone should give one of those people what for. Only Reapers could off someone so easily, I bet.The woman buys a burger and heads back for 104, the only Player in sight.
Now's my chance. Neku holds the flame-colored pin in his hand and it heats up, generating some sparks.
Pyrokinesis... and it seems I can use it.. Just as he begins to launch a fireball, a clawed paw extends from an alley and slashes for the woman. It's so fast, there's no dodging it. And then the woman's gone.
..the hell just...? Neku rushes towards the spot where the mysterious act had occurred, but nothing's there. In the alley, there seems to be a huge pile of junk stacked up, blocking it.
When did all this crap get here? Neku wonders.

Meanwhile, elsewhere..
"You're gonna help me earns some points, k ~ ? Bye-bye, muah."A scream is heard under the sound of growling.

Neku gets up to find himself in the scramble crossing.
What the...? I was in that alley and then...He checks the date on his phone.
The fuck?! An entire DAY has gone by?"Yo man, wha's with the face? You look like you seen a ghost're somethin'."Neku looks up to see two other kids looking at him. An older boy and a short girl.
The girl is giggling a bit.
"Beat, I don't think that's all that strange given the circumstances."
Who're these two?A beeping in his phone draws Neku's attention.
Proceed to Cat Street. You have 40 minutes. Fail and face erasure.The timer stings into his hand again.
"Again with this BS.""Guess we better be ghostin' on outta here then. Man, I'm so hungry." He smiles.
"Yo Phones, bet you breakfast that Rhyme and I can get there before you! Le's book it!" He takes off.
"Beat, hey wait a minute! ... Hehe, he's so silly sometimes." The girl turns to Neku.
"Hi, I'm Rhyme and that was Beat. Nice to meet you, but I should be going." She walks off after Beat.
... Is that guy really expecting me to buy him food if I can't get there before him? Well, I didn't agree to anything. I'll walk thanks....
During the night, some Players mysteriously vanished...
