I read some of your blog, got some critiques:

This is just my opinion
- People already mentioned it but you need pictures. It's pretty cold and uninviting there. I'm sure you like the dark look, but it felt very sterile when I was reading stuff.

- Maybe you could branch out to other areas for your blog. Maybe a few topics on stuff you find on the kotaku (spelling?) website, as in "they've reported on banning M rated games and anime in Japan, here's my take"

I'd like to see more anime reviews than video games reviews. I personally haven't seen very many anime, so I'd like a few good titles to watch. If you do stick with video game reviews then try reviewing lesser known titles

Thanks for the input. I just started doing anime reviews hence why there is just one, but I am planning on doing more. And the video game reviews come when I finish a game. I like to get the whole feeling for a game before jumping into a review. But I will try to get lesser known games on there.

I could give more reactions to news topics, but in the past I haven't because I normally post them on forums like here. But I guess I could start doing them in my blog as well.

Added banner below and box art images to posts as well as a new segment that will come out on weekends talking about upcoming games.

I hope this is helping make my blog more appealing.

Thought I would just throw that in there for some more visual fun. Thought some random images for the none reviews might be nice too.

So I was thinking while writing up a future game review is how I would like the structure of it to be. What I mean is, in the past I have just wrote out an essay style review (meaning transitional sentences instead of GAMEPLAY:, STORY:, etc) to break it up. At the end I then give it an overall score out of 5 or 10. Then I started doing a basic summary which for me get to a few paragraphs long and then I got into the GAMEPLAY:, STORY:, etc style where I give each section a score out of 10. But as I was writing out my new one Spoon asked if what I had was still my intro which was a few paragraphs long, or if the story part would be under STORY:. I told him it was still the intros, but can see how that would go under there. Then I was thinking how my anime reviews don't have any ratings. Partly because it has less aspects to rate. There is no gameplay or controls to talk about. So maybe I should make game reviews like that? What style do you find best to be for a game review?

I'd say just don't put a score, put what you liked, what you didn't, and try to put a more universal view of the game after that. Pretty much like Kotaku reviews

kotaku reviews did pop into my head, but I don't want to bite someone's style.

Hm...only a wall of text wouldn't be good, though. I'd say...hm...sorry, no ideas.

It doesn't really matter how you set up the reviews...so long as you make for an interesting read ;)

Personally, I like seeing numbers, because many times I don't have enough time to read the whole review, so I just look at breakdowns of various areas. I also just read a few sentences of each paragraph...so I'd say try to make good transitions and hooks for each idea, so that people can get a basic jist of what your going to say...then you elaborate on it ;)
