Depression

Postby AsukaNeumaki » Fri Jun 29, 2012 11:00 am

Does anyone know anyway to get rid of depression. I never usually am very depressed but sometimes I just get sudden swings that are triggered by events that throw me into a depression and I don't know how to deal with it. I made a complete jackass out of myself and I made a lot of people pissed off. I had never mean't anything I said to be offensive but everyone saw it that way and pretty much everyone I thought were the coolest and best people I'm pretty sure hate me now. I just feel very alone. I'm sorry if this topic is useless and is just a stupid personal problem but I just wanted to know if anyone has tips because I am breaking down because I just feel so bad about what I did.

Sadly there isn't a quick fix for it that I've found. I tend to just get a change in mood to something better eventually without anything causing it.

I'm not sure what you did, but may I simply suggest apologizing to them? A heartfelt apology can make a world of difference. ;)

I did apologize and it really is making me feel better just to know there is someone who accepted my apology.

If you find that it doesn't go away and you just can't feel happy anymore, please be aware that clinical depression does exist, where it's not your fault and you don't need to suffer through it alone. Clinical depression is a brain disorder where you are, quite literally, for some reason, incapable of releasing neurotransmitters that make you happy.

From your story, I am assuming you don't typically feel depressed, so I hope things work out for you. It may take some time, but, once you are able to move on, things should start reverting to normal.

However, if your mental state does not improve with time, I strongly urge you to speak to your parents, your friends, or a counselor about it. The people around you are there to help you, so if you do have a problem outside of your control, know that clinical depression can be treated, just as long as give yourself the opportunity to be helped.

Try to think positively?

And yes, apologizing works as well. But I suggest you don't insist if they don't accept it. That usually doesn't make things any better. Give them some time, and they may come back to you.

Do things that make you happy.
Talk to people you like talking to (if that's an option in this situation).
Watch a funny show or video.

the important is that you don't fell in every problems of your life while you're depressed,or you will become like me...

anyway it's weird, but the "depressed apologize" works a lot more better then the normals if you're not saying them to a bast*rd.

Beedlebud:true,if you ask them continously apologize and they accept,it means that they just did it because you was annoying for them and in somedays they will break your heart and destroy your mind, making you try to suicide even with pen or teeths...

This happens a lot to me as I often will say things bluntly but without the slightest intention of offending or insulting. As Prin suggests, an honest apology usually helps. Hope you feel better.

If you feel like you are suffering from actual clinical depression, nobody here is in any position to give you any kind of advice other than to consult a doctor or someone in your life that you trust (who should tell advise you to consult a doctor).

I'm going to leave this thread open but please keep in mind that this forum isn't the appropriate place to get useful medical/psychological advice.

Wow talk about kinda mean there Hibari. I just took what Houk said as kinda
'We aren't responsible if you end up killing yourself, when you talking about how to not kill yourself.'

Yeah, I know the above line may not make sense to some people... but sometimes things trigger certain emotions and/or other things. I have two major triggers myself-

Rejection (Social or Romantic)
Someone betraying my trust (And I am not going to get into this).

The one thing I can say is

Never start cutting, or doing any other type of self mutilation.
It's like Pringles... Once you pop you just can't stop. .-.

I know this from experience. I used to cut to punish myself for liking a girl. A girl that would constantly reject me. ^^;

But then I started craving the blood letting... see... when people bleed, it releases a chemical in the brain. A highly addicting one, though I cannot remember for sure what it is. Perhaps Dopamine? You body start craving it like any other type of dope or drug someone wants to do. (Such as Caffeine, Nicotine, alcohol, meth, cocaine, etc.)

Edit:
And if you can, see a doctor about it. I'm not sure, but you may be able to go to a walkin clinic?
Paying for the medicine isn't that much. I take 40mg Prozac daily. which is double the usual amount. >>
I paid 8.99 when I picked them up today for a 30 day supply.

I had a long meaningful response, but my phone crashed and the message was lost, so here's the skinny:

1. Depression is ultimately out of our hands, in terms of control.
2. See a doctor = your life and happiness is priceless.
3. Meds, diet and excercise are your best options to help in regulating it.

FYI, I reported the thread for monitoring (not for locking), which is probably why Houk came in here. Regardless if you have friends or money or not, the fact remains that this (posting on a message board) is not going to be an actual solution if you have clinical depression. There's a big difference between feeling sad and being biochemically incapable of feeling happy. For the latter, you need to see a professional.
