I made this in my manufacturing class in high school. My daughter played with it, so it's falling apart...
Every piece of that model was made by hand out of blocks of metal

That's what makes it awesome.

I just had a metal lathe and some chisels. The lathe would spin the metal really fast and I would carve the shapes out with the chisels. The hard part was slowly cutting into the metal because the tools would either get really hot or the chisel would fly out of my hand when it hit a dip....

My school was ghetto so we did everything by hand...I have another project that was even better than the rocket, I'll post it if I can find it....if it's not broken
