"Data Install" does it help with loading?

Postby MegaManZXAvant » Fri Jun 28, 2013 7:14 pm

^Subject^
Can anyone verify if using the "Data Install" will make the game load faster?

Can the Publishers/Developers say rather "Data Install" helps with loading or not?

That has always been the point of installing things to the hard drive. As it does not serve much other purpose (except not using your disc as much).

Sounds like a nice experiment I want to undertake because I data install for every game. Might even post a youtube video of the loadings and compare the lengths.

It may help with the loading, but at least in the first game, it doesn't help enough. ^^;

Alright so it "does" help but no doubt not enough, it would be great if NIS America could release a patch for it to help with the loading issues. The game has not even been out a year yet over here in the US.

*Off-Topic*

Anyone here is welcome to add me as a friend via PSN I am on it quite often although my selection of online games is limited, I flip back and forth from the PC & PS3 since they are both on the same HDTV (26" Vizio HDTV) via HDMI.

Hahaha, that's kind of true, I was afraid someone was going to say it didn't help much on the first game.

Spoiler:
but it eliminates 95% of the loading on the sequel

Does anyone have the digital copy of Mugen Souls and can tell if that loads faster then the retail copy? Of course you would need both the retail copy and the digital which not many would have to compare the loading times with.

A friend of mine claims that the loading times for the digital version are much better, although he just compared the difference with a video of the PS3 version. Still, I don't think it's worth dropping $40 just for that.

Oh I know I was just wondering is all I spent $27.99 (Tax free & free shipping) getting Mugen Souls via eBay, I was not okay spending $40 +Tax on getting it else where.

Hahaha, not related to you but it reminds me of someone who was saying $40 is expensive for a digital download version on the download version news bldudas posted lol. That's a HUGE discount compared to the Japanese price... A true peon like me would buy multiple versions of the LE at double the price.

Off topic note while I was looking for Mugen Souls Z demo on the JP store:
Spoiler:
They have a digital version of Mugen Souls Z on the JP PSN for about $70 (that's actually cheap), $40's is nothing. It is not worth it for us because buying JP PSN cards with foreign currency is gonna make it cost more lol.
