If Neptunia Had Mugen Souls Battle System

I've spoken with some people about Mugen Souls before and there are a few people who say they don't like Mugen Souls because it's not Neptunia.

Most of the people who played this game has played Neptunia and wanted to give this game a try and expect it to be as simple which is what it basically is, sadly it takes a while to get used to. When every command becomes second nature and you get to know every control and features, the game will feel like a blast. Why do people never go far in Mugen Souls? Most likely because none of their other friends play and they're alone in the series.

So I was thinking that if Mugen Souls was a Neptunia title, this game would get a lot more people backing it and playing it longer to enjoy it.

I'm a creative person and this is a creativity thread. There is no "one" answer that is correct, there is a Chou-Chou (infinite) amount of possibilities to this thread.

Yes, I know Mugen Souls is created after Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 which is why I said that the battle system was based off it. Don't remember saying Mugen Souls was created before Hypderdimension mk2 though.

Too me and almost everyone else who loved both series, Mugen Souls and Hyperdimension Neptunia feel like the exact same thing except for that Mugen Souls has a lot more too offer but with different characters and story. Just imagine that Mugen Souls never existed and the game was called Neptunia Souls.

The title is a hypothetical question about something that hasn't happened and I'm asking everyone what you guys would think if it did happen:

What would you guys think about Neptunia if it had the bath Mini-Games, Moe Kill, Blast Off, Custom Character Creations, Peon Ball, Mugen Field etc. I bet more people would play Mugen Souls longer and enjoy everything it had to offer it was a Neptunia title instead of being instead of being Mugen Souls.

Compile Heart doesn't really focus much on promoting the Mugen Souls series at the moment but if they stop the series, I'd hope to see another game series just as good as Mugen Souls. I know nobody would like to see another Mugen Souls series but it's mainly because Mugen Souls Z got me hooked on the series.

i think that compile heart/idea factory made a mistake in making the gameplay cumbersome from the get go.in the neptunia series i just spammed away to victory and things were being added as the game went along not right from the start.like i said before i see why people would love mugen souls and other games like it.but in my humble view,games should be played to have fun and not frustrate the player with tacky gameplay over gameplay so that will make it harder just for the sake of it.the lolicon aspect didnt help things either.at one point i thought that chou chou was just a plain shota but then i released that she was just a petanko? anyways, the main thing that bothered me was how cumbersome everything was from the get go.and let me say that i have played other games by idea factory and compile heart and i have left those games for the same reason,sry :roll:

It's only cumbersome until you understand it... then you realize there's about a dozen ways to beat enemies, each of which is useful in its own way and at different times. Surprisingly easy to keep track of things, too...

Thanks for the excellent response, but what about my hypothetical question of Neptunia also becoming an overwhelming game. Would it make people continue and want to learn about the system? (That was a little off topic but this is supposed to be about Neptunia and not Mugen Souls. We can talk about Mugen Souls on the other thread)

I had to look up Cumbersome lol. But yeah, this game is the exact same thing as Neptunia but way more fun, I think people just don't want to learn how to play it. Its only hard if you want to make it hard, people think too much about the system when they play it. I admit that I enjoy the original Mugen Souls a lot more than Neptunia Victory after I started learning how to own everything.

For an intelligent person, I can think we can think of about 50 ways to beat your opponents which means it's easier than the average Compile Heart game and it is definitely one of the most overwhelming games made by Compile Heart.

To beat the main game, all you REALLY need to know is how to use skills... and maybe bouncing. It's pretty easy, really. Very JRPG-standard. ^^ Everything else is more specialist use. It looks much harder than it really is.

Hahaha, sorry about the confusion guys, I was mainly talking about what would happen if there was no such thing as Mugen Souls ^^;

I think Neptunia would be pretty dam neat if they had features like blast off, fever time and customizable characters. I don't mind to see them ending Mugen Souls but I hope to see them use this system in future games.

If Neptunia had Mugen Souls battle system then we would get to see Nepgear and Blanc and stuff do moe poses... I love that idea.

People love Tsunako's character designs and concept of Neptunia so I'd think people would love to see a bath mini game in it, I guarantee. I think it's pretty hard to imagine the concept of "moe" and charming opponents in a Neptunia game so that'll probably be changed. One person is able to do a feature similar to Moe kill except for that they can't change forms (not even CPU forms).

I'm sure people would appreciate seeing Neptunia with some more added battle mechanics. I really hope their next main game will some more nice game mechanics, I don't see why IF hasn't incorporated blast off in Neptunia Victory, that was an awesome feature. A limitless dungeon you can explore also sounds nice, don't think it is that hard to make, just needs to have a lvl cap of 9999 instead of 99.

For moving continents and searching for boards to charm, I think they should be search for hidden items on the continent and give to the oracles to get to locked areas.
