Seeing that the sales are pretty much the same and HDN is a pretty good sign of localization...Even with the Hotspring mini game since its such a small part of the game... you can play the entire game without using the hotspring mini game.

It's still there, though, and all it takes is one butthurt parent walking in on their kid playing it. Which is why there was the initial fear that it won't come over here.

Let's be honest, sometimes the ESRB ratings simply don't make any sense.
I mean for an example of that relating to language and any themes of violence and its ilk is Soul Nomad and its T. So it's entirely possible they'll miss it or otherwise glaze over it.

Unlikely.

If I understand it right (I may be wrong), the ESRB receives a DVD or something along those lines showing various scenes from the game, particularly those the publisher feels are likely to warrant a rating, and the gaming industry has a certain degree of incentive to be honest about all this. Thus, they may not even play the game in question (but that isn't really necessary in order to rate it).

Although the fact you said 'unlikely' is pretty much the proof of my point. :D

Honestly, no-one can know for sure, (Soul Nomad's T did actually surprise NISA considering what's in there) as they really do make some seemingly-random ratings. Although some of that does probably come down it the ESRB not actually playing the games themselves, although they have bumped up some ratings after finding out more about them, like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I'm pretty sure I know what was edited...they probably colored over some of the fanservice CGs for one...

Anyways, I'm glad that this is coming over, the game looks pretty solid in terms of gameplay/characters

Cool that it's coming over here. Not surprised about the editing from what I can see of the game some of those scenes would create a lot of controversy over here.

That they would...if half of Shushu's forms didn't look like little kids, I think it wouldn't be as bad...but loli stuff isn't accepted here, even less accepted than normal anime fan service :P

Guess we'll have the official names soon too

Too bad the hot springs got censored. I wonder what the difference between Japanese and western CGs would be. Assuming NISA didn't cut them outright.
