I don't think I'll use any custom/generic characters. Why use them when I can use real party members that are likely to be much stronger, have unique skills, and possibly forced to use at some story points?

*shrug* like most CH games, I have a feeling that the character's strength is determined by their equipment and how you level them up, so we'll see when it releases I guess

From what Silva said, you might only be forced to use a character once. They're not doing things like the Tales series, you get free reign of your party.

But, that's your choice how to do things.

Yeah, it's not impossible, but sure as heck implausible

Anyways, I'm sure that even if you're forced to use a character, ever, outside of Chou-Chou, you'd be fine due to equipment upgrades, and you more than likely having them in the back row, so I don't see any reason to worry about that to be honest
