Region Free?

Postby computerandy9 » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:07 pm

It's Great that AnoHana is finally being released and I totaly want to give NIS my money but as I live in Austrlalia I was wondering if the blu ray discs will be compatible with region B or not? Considering it hasn't been licensed in any region B area i wouldn't see the problem if it was region A + B. On a side not i totaly need to get me a region free player. Living in Australia I miss out on so many blu ray releases of anime series.

Thanks,

Don't ask me to explain why, because it's not my department, but yes all our Blu-rays and DVDs are region-locked for use in North American regions. I imagine it has something to do with PAL regions and whatnot, but the bottom line is that that stuff is all region-locked for us.

I'd like to say that while I do understand the reasoning behind the region locking (licencing requirements and all), it does make me a little sad that I won't be able to watch the show in all it's BluRay goodness as Region Free BluRay players are hard to come by. :(

Depends on where you live, Kogan makes some region free Bluray players and they're located in Australia. Japan is fighting the reverse importation phantom now more then ever, so it's best to hook yourself up with a region free player now since I doubt any company will be making region free Blurays in today's market.

You can get Region Free BD players pretty readily on the internet. Invest in one if you really want to watch region A BDs
